1. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before assembly and use. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Maximum Weight Capacity: The top bunk has a maximum weight capacity of 350 lbs. The lower bunk has a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs. Do not exceed these limits.
- Guard Rails: The top bunk is equipped with full-length guard rails to prevent falls. Ensure they are securely installed at all times.
- Ladder Safety: The detachable side ladder can be positioned on either side. Ensure the ladder is stable and securely attached before use. Always use the ladder for climbing to and from the top bunk.
- Mattress Thickness: For optimal safety, the mattress on the top bunk should not exceed 6 inches in thickness to maintain adequate guard rail height.
- Age Recommendation: Bunk beds are not recommended for children under 6 years of age on the top bunk.
- Entrapment Risk: Ensure all connections are tight to prevent gaps that could pose an entrapment risk. The design features a smaller gap to minimize this risk.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check all bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary.
- No Jumping: Do not allow jumping on the bunk bed.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the bed.

2. Package Contents
Before beginning assembly, ensure all parts listed below are present and undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, do not proceed with assembly and contact customer support.
- Bunk Bed Frame Components (Metal beams, slats, etc.)
- Removable Ladder
- Guardrails
- Hardware (Bolts, screws, washers, nuts)
- Assembly Manual (This document)
- All necessary Tools for assembly
3. Setup and Assembly Instructions
Assembly is designed to be straightforward and typically takes about an hour with two people. Follow these general steps:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Verify all parts against the package contents list.
- Assemble Bed Frames: Begin by assembling the headboards and footboards for both the upper and lower bunks. Secure all connections loosely at first.
- Attach Side Rails: Connect the side rails to the assembled headboards/footboards for both bunks.
- Install Slats: Place the metal slats onto the designated supports for both the upper and lower bunks. Ensure they are evenly spaced and secured. No box spring is required.
- Connect Bunks: Carefully lift and position the upper bunk frame onto the lower bunk frame, aligning the connection points. Secure with the provided hardware.
- Install Guard Rails: Attach the full-length guard rails to the top bunk. Ensure they are firmly secured.
- Attach Ladder: Position the detachable side ladder on either the left or right side of the bunk bed, as preferred. Secure it firmly to the frame.
- Final Tightening: Once all components are in place, systematically tighten all bolts and screws using the provided tools. Do not overtighten.
- Placement: Position the assembled bunk bed in its desired location, ensuring it is stable and level.

4. Operating Instructions
The LIFE SKY Twin Over Twin Bunk Bed is designed for comfortable and safe sleeping arrangements. Follow these guidelines for proper use:
- Using the Ladder: Always use the provided ladder to access the top bunk. Ensure a firm grip and stable footing when climbing up or down.
- Mattress Placement: Place twin-size mattresses on both the upper and lower bunks. Ensure the top bunk mattress does not exceed 6 inches in height to maintain guard rail effectiveness.
- Weight Distribution: Distribute weight evenly on both bunks. Avoid concentrating heavy loads in one area.
- Low Profile Design: The low profile design of the lower bunk provides easy access and enhanced safety, especially for younger users.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of your bunk bed.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the metal frame with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
- Hardware Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) inspect all bolts, screws, and connections. Tighten any that have become loose. Do not overtighten.
- Structural Integrity: Check for any signs of wear, damage, or bending in the metal frame or slats. If any damage is found, discontinue use and contact customer support for replacement parts or advice.
- Noise Reduction: If squeaking occurs, identify the source and ensure all connections in that area are securely tightened. Applying a small amount of silicone lubricant to metal-on-metal contact points can also help.

Figure 8: Bunk Bed Features. This image highlights the 11-inch full-length guardrail, noise-free design, and strong frame near the floor, all contributing to the bed's durability and ease of maintenance.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bed is wobbly or unstable. | Loose bolts or uneven floor. | Ensure all bolts are securely tightened. Check if the bed is on a level surface; use shims if necessary. |
| Squeaking noises. | Loose connections or metal-on-metal friction. | Tighten all bolts. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to contact points if tightening does not resolve the issue. |
| Missing parts during assembly. | Packaging error or lost during unpacking. | Double-check all packaging materials. Contact LIFE SKY customer support with your model number and a list of missing parts. |
| Difficulty attaching the ladder. | Incorrect orientation or obstruction. | Refer to assembly instructions for correct ladder orientation. Ensure no debris or misalignment is preventing proper attachment. |
