To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your KVM switch, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid exposing the switch to moisture or liquids.
  • Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected to prevent signal loss or intermittent issues.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your KVM switch, please try the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • No Display/Intermittent Display:
    • Ensure all HDMI and USB cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and your computers/monitors.
    • Verify that the power adapter is correctly connected and the KVM switch is powered on.
    • Check if your monitors and computers are set to the correct input sources.
    • Try using different HDMI cables, especially if experiencing 4K@60Hz issues, as cable quality can impact performance.
  • USB Devices Not Responding:
    • Ensure the USB cables connecting the KVM switch to your computers are properly plugged in.
    • Try connecting the USB device to a different USB 3.0 port on the KVM switch.
    • Test the USB device by connecting it directly to your computer to rule out device malfunction.
  • Switching Delays:
    • While the switch is designed for fast transitions, some monitors may take a few seconds to re-establish a signal. This is normal behavior for certain display technologies.
