4. Setup Instructions

  1. Connect the Cable: Insert the XLR end of the provided cable into the microphone's XLR output port.
  2. Connect to Audio Device: Insert the 1/4'' (6.35mm) end of the cable into the microphone input jack of your audio device (e.g., amplifier, audio mixer, PA system, karaoke machine, or speaker). Ensure the audio device is powered off before making connections.
  3. Secure Placement: For optimal performance and to minimize handling noise, it is recommended to mount the microphone on a stand using a compatible microphone clip (not included).

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Locate the ON/OFF switch on the microphone body. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the microphone.
  2. Adjust Audio Device: Power on your audio device and adjust its input gain or volume control to an appropriate level. Start with a low volume and gradually increase it to avoid feedback or distortion.
  3. Microphone Positioning: Hold the microphone firmly, pointing the top (grille) directly towards the sound source (e.g., your mouth). For vocals, a distance of 2 to 6 inches (5-15 cm) is generally recommended.
  4. Cardioid Pickup: The DM-2300 features a cardioid polar pattern, meaning it is most sensitive to sounds coming from the front and less sensitive to sounds from the sides and rear. This helps in reducing ambient noise and feedback.
  5. Power Off: When finished using the microphone, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position. Power off your audio device before disconnecting the microphone.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone body. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the microphone in water.
  • Storage: Store the microphone in its provided drawstring bag when not in use to protect it from dust and physical damage.
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the microphone to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Handling: Handle the microphone with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Disassembly: Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the microphone. This may void any warranty and could cause damage.
