Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for ensuring optimal performance and extending the lifespan of your Mienta Glass Kettle.

Exterior Cleaning

  • Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces of the kettle and the power base with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can scratch or damage the surfaces.
  • Never immerse the kettle body or the power base in water or any other liquid.

Anti-Calc Filter Cleaning

  • The removable anti-calc filter helps to prevent limescale particles from being dispensed with your hot water.
  • To clean the filter, open the kettle lid and gently pull the filter upwards and out from its slot located behind the spout.
  • Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water. If necessary, use a soft brush to gently remove any stubborn deposits.
  • Ensure the filter is completely dry before re-inserting it.
  • Push the filter back into its slot until it clicks securely into place.

Descaling

Limescale buildup, especially in hard water areas, can affect the kettle's performance and the taste of your water. Descale your kettle regularly.

  • Fill the kettle with a mixture of white vinegar and water (a 1:2 ratio is often effective) or use a commercially available descaling solution designed for kettles.
  • Boil the mixture and then let it stand in the kettle for at least 30 minutes. For heavy limescale buildup, you may let it stand longer.
  • Discard the descaling mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times with fresh water.
  • To remove any residual taste or odor from the descaling agent, boil fresh water 2-3 times and discard it before using the kettle for beverages.
