3. Setup Guide

3.1 Charging Dock Placement

Place the charging dock against a wall in an open area, ensuring there are no obstacles within 1 meter (3 feet) to the sides and 2 meters (6 feet) in front of the dock. Connect the power adapter to the charging dock and plug it into a power outlet.

3.2 Initial Charging

Place the robot vacuum onto the charging dock. Ensure the charging contacts on the robot align with those on the dock. The indicator light on the robot will show charging status. For first-time use, charge the robot for at least 6 hours to ensure optimal battery performance.

3.3 Installing Side Brushes

Press the side brushes onto the square posts at the bottom of the robot until they click into place.

3.4 Installing Dustbin and Water Tank

Open the top cover of the robot. Insert the dustbin into its compartment until it is securely seated. For mopping, fill the water tank with clean water and attach the mopping pad to the mopping holder assembly. Then, insert the water tank assembly into the robot.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting and Stopping Cleaning

  • To Start: Press the power button on the robot or the "AUTO" button on the remote control. The robot will begin cleaning in automatic mode.
  • To Pause: Press the power button on the robot or the "Play/Pause" button on the remote control.
  • To Stop: Press and hold the power button on the robot for a few seconds, or press the "Power" button on the remote control to send it back to the charging dock.

4.2 Cleaning Modes

The Midea I2A operates with a random navigation pattern, ensuring comprehensive coverage over time. Use the remote control to select specific cleaning modes if available (e.g., Spot Cleaning, Edge Cleaning, Auto Cleaning).

4.3 Wet & Dry Cleaning

For wet cleaning, ensure the water tank is filled and the mopping pad is attached. The robot will vacuum and then mop the floor. For dry cleaning only, remove the water tank assembly.

4.4 Anti-Fall Function

The robot is equipped with sensors to detect drops and stairs. It will automatically change direction to avoid falling. Ensure these sensors are kept clean for optimal performance.

4.5 Obstacle Climbing

The Midea I2A can climb over obstacles up to 15 mm in height, allowing it to transition between different floor types and over small thresholds.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your robotic vacuum cleaner.

5.1 Emptying the Dustbin

Press the release button to remove the dustbin. Open the dustbin cover and empty its contents into a trash bin. Clean the dustbin with a dry cloth or rinse with water if necessary (ensure it is completely dry before re-inserting).

5.2 Cleaning Filters

Remove the filter from the dustbin. Tap the filter gently to remove dust. Do not wash the HEPA filter with water. Replace filters every 3-6 months depending on usage.

5.3 Cleaning Side Brushes

Periodically remove the side brushes and clean any tangled hair or debris. If brushes are worn, replace them with new ones.

5.4 Cleaning the Water Tank and Mopping Pad

After each mopping session, empty any remaining water from the tank. Rinse the water tank and mopping pad with clean water. Allow the mopping pad to air dry completely before reattaching or storing.

5.5 Cleaning Sensors

Wipe the anti-fall sensors and charging contacts on the robot and charging dock with a clean, dry cloth to ensure proper function.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Midea I2A, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
