4. Assembly Instructions
Assembly of the Cadac Compact 2 Burner Patio Gas Braai is required. Please follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the separate assembly guide included with your product. Ensure all connections are secure and gas lines are properly installed before attempting to operate the braai.
- Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list.
- Attach the stand and wheels to the main body of the braai.
- Secure the side tables to the braai unit.
- Install the burners and cooking grids.
- Connect the gas hose and regulator to the braai and the gas cylinder (not included).
- Perform a leak test on all gas connections using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Connecting the Gas Cylinder
- Ensure the gas cylinder valve is closed.
- Connect the regulator to the gas cylinder valve. Tighten securely.
- Open the gas cylinder valve slowly and check for leaks.
5.2 Lighting the Burners (Piezo Ignition)
- Ensure the braai lid is open.
- Turn the gas cylinder valve fully open.
- Push in and turn one control knob counter-clockwise to the HIGH position.
- Press and hold the piezo ignition button (if separate) or continue holding the control knob in for integrated ignition. You should hear a clicking sound and see the burner ignite.
- If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the control knob to OFF, wait 5 minutes, and repeat the lighting procedure.
- Once lit, adjust the flame to the desired cooking temperature using the control knob.
- Repeat for the second burner if needed.
5.3 Cooking
- Preheat the braai with the lid closed for 5-10 minutes on medium heat.
- Use the integrated thermometer on the dome lid to monitor internal temperature.
- Place food on the porcelain enamelled cast iron cooking grids.
- Utilize the stainless steel warming rack for keeping cooked food warm or for indirect cooking.
5.4 Shutting Down
- Turn all burner control knobs to the OFF position.
- Close the gas cylinder valve completely.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
6.1 After Each Use
- Allow the braai to cool completely.
- Remove and clean the removable drip tray.
- Brush food residue from the porcelain enamelled cast iron cooking grids using a braai brush.
- Wipe down exterior surfaces with a damp cloth.
6.2 Periodic Maintenance
- Inspect the gas hose and connections for cracks, cuts, or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Clean burner ports to ensure even flame distribution.
- Ensure ventilation openings are clear of obstructions.
