1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Ciays Large Propane Fire Pit. This portable outdoor fire pit is designed to provide a warm and enjoyable experience for your backyard, patio, or camping adventures. With its 58,000 BTU heat output and versatile grill grate, it offers both warmth and cooking capabilities. This manual provides essential information for safe and efficient operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

2. Important Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, explosion, or carbon monoxide poisoning, which could cause property damage, personal injury, or death.
General Safety Warnings:
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Use only in well-ventilated outdoor areas.
- Do not touch or move the fire pit during operation. Allow it to cool completely before handling.
- Avoid direct contact between food and the grill grate. Use appropriate cookware.
- Do not use during wood campfire bans, except in areas where CSA-approved propane fire pits are specifically permitted.
- The Ciays fire pit is equipped with flameout protection. If the flame is extinguished by strong wind, rain, or due to lack of oxygen, the gas supply will shut off automatically.
- Store the propane tank away from heat sources and in a well-ventilated area.
- Always follow manufacturer instructions for use and maintenance of both the fire pit and the propane tank.

4. Setup Instructions

Unpack and Position:
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the fire pit on a stable, level, non-combustible surface away from any flammable materials or structures.

Extend Folding Legs:
Locate the folding legs on the underside of the fire pit. Press the release buttons and extend each leg until it locks securely into place. Ensure all legs are fully extended and stable.

Add Lava Rocks:
Distribute the provided lava rocks evenly over the burner ring inside the fire bowl. Ensure the burner holes are not completely covered to allow for proper flame distribution.

Connect Propane Tank:
Connect the preassembled 10 ft gas hose and regulator to a standard 20 lb propane tank (not included). Hand-tighten the connection firmly. Place the propane tank in the provided tank holder for stability and safety, ensuring it is a safe distance from the fire pit.

Optional: Install Grill Grate:
If you plan to use the fire pit for cooking, place the cast iron grill grate directly over the lava rocks. Ensure it sits securely.
5. Operating Instructions

Open Propane Supply:
Slowly open the valve on your propane tank counter-clockwise to allow gas flow to the fire pit.

Ignite the Fire Pit (Piezo Electric Ignition):
The Ciays fire pit features a Piezo Electric Ignition system, requiring no batteries or external power.
- Push and hold the electroplated knob for 3 seconds.
- While holding, turn the knob to the 'MAX' position.
- Continue holding the knob for 5 seconds to allow gas to prime and ignite.
- Once ignited, release the knob.

Adjust Flame:
Rotate the control knob to adjust the flame height and heat output to your desired level. The fire pit provides a total heat output of 58,000 BTU.

Using the Grill Grate:
The included cast iron grill grate allows for heating food or liquids in a pot or kettle. Do not place food directly on the grill grate to avoid grease buildup in the fire pit. Always use appropriate cooking utensils.

To Turn Off:
Turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position. Close the valve on your propane tank completely.
6. Maintenance
Cleaning:
- Ensure the fire pit is completely cool before cleaning.
- Wipe down the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- The cast iron grill grate can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a brush. Ensure it is thoroughly dried to prevent rust.
- Periodically check the lava rocks for debris and clean as needed.
Storage:
- Disconnect the propane tank and store it in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Fold the legs underneath the fire pit for compact storage.
- Place the lid on top of the fire pit and secure it with the provided carrying strap for easy transport and protection.

7. Troubleshooting
