2.2 Assembly Steps

  1. Secure the Reservoir: Use the provided Velcro pads to fix the reservoir in place, or use the mounting plate and screws for a more permanent installation. Ensure the reservoir is placed horizontally to allow the float switch to operate correctly. Unlevel placement is prohibited.
  2. Connect Breather Tube: Cut a small section of the drain tube to serve as a breather tube. Connect this small section to the reservoir cover port.
  3. Connect Drain Tube to Reservoir: The reservoir has two water outlets. Connect the main drain tube (1/4” inner diameter) to one of these outlets. Plug the other outlet with the red stopper provided. Note the direction of water flow indicated on the pump.
  4. Connect Reservoir to Pump: Connect the reservoir to the main pump unit using the drain tube. The tube length should be less than 6.6 feet for optimal performance.
  5. Connect Power Cord: Connect the wire attached to the reservoir cap to the pump's connecting port. Then, connect the power cord to the pump's power connect port.
  6. Connect L-shaped Rubber Tube: Connect the L-shaped rubber tube (1/2” inner diameter) to the water inlet port of the reservoir. This tube will connect to your air conditioner's drainage pipe.
  7. Connect to AC Drainage: Connect the L-shaped rubber tube to the air conditioner drainage pipe (not included). Alternatively, you can directly connect the reservoir to the air conditioner drain outlet if space permits. If needed, the L-shaped rubber hose can be trimmed.
  8. Secure Pump: Secure the water pump inside the line set cover or in a suitable location, ensuring it is stable.
  9. Secure Tubes: Use zip ties to secure the connected tubes, ensuring a neat and stable installation. Cut off any excess zip tie material.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Automatic Operation

The TURBRO Mini-Split Condensate Pump is equipped with a float switch located within the reservoir. This float switch automatically detects the water level and activates or deactivates the pump as needed, ensuring efficient and continuous condensation removal without manual intervention.

3.2 Safety Detection System

For enhanced safety, the pump includes signal cable connections (N.O. and N.C.).

  • N.O. (Normally Open) and COM (Common) Signal Cables: Connecting these (red and green wires) to an alarm contact sensor or a lamp (not included) can trigger an alarm when the water level in the reservoir is too high, alerting you to a potential issue.
  • N.C. (Normally Closed) and COM (Common) Signal Cables: Connecting these (purple and green wires) to the indoor unit of your AC system (not included) can stop the AC unit when the reservoir detects a high water level, preventing overflow and water damage.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Recommended Cleaning Schedule

It is recommended to check and clean the condensate pump every 6 months or more frequently depending on usage and environmental conditions to ensure optimal performance and prevent blockages.

4.2 Cleaning the Reservoir and Components

  1. Remove Reservoir Cover: Carefully remove the orange cover from the reservoir unit.
  2. Remove Internal Components: Take out the filter screen and the float switch assembly from the reservoir.
  3. Clean Components: Clean the reservoir, filter screen, and float switch with clean water and a mild detergent. Ensure all debris and sludge are removed.
  4. Reassemble Float Switch: When reassembling the float switch, ensure the magnet side is facing up.
  5. Reinsert Components: After cleaning, put the filter screen back into its designated slot, then carefully reinsert the float switch assembly.
  6. Replace Reservoir Cover: Securely place the reservoir cover back onto the unit.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TURBRO Mini-Split Condensate Pump, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Pump Not Activating:
    • Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the pump and the power outlet.
    • Verify that the float switch is not obstructed and can move freely. Clean the reservoir and float switch if necessary.
    • Ensure the reservoir is placed horizontally. Unlevel placement can prevent the float switch from operating correctly.
    • Inspect the wiring connections for the power and signal cables to ensure they are properly seated and not damaged.
  • Water Leakage:
    • Check all tube connections (drain tube, breather tube, L-shaped rubber tube) for tightness and proper sealing.
    • Ensure the red stopper is securely in place on the unused reservoir outlet.
    • Inspect tubes and connections for any cracks or damage.
  • Unusual Noise:
    • Ensure the pump is securely mounted and not vibrating against any surfaces.
    • Check for any foreign objects inside the reservoir or tubes that might be causing obstruction or noise.
    • Clean the pump and reservoir as per the maintenance instructions.

If the problem persists after attempting these troubleshooting steps, please contact TURBRO customer support for further assistance.
