This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your VINGLI 10'x10' Retractable Aluminum Pergola. Please read these instructions thoroughly before beginning assembly or use to ensure proper function and longevity of your product. Keep this manual for future reference.

The VINGLI 10'x10' Retractable Aluminum Pergola is designed to provide a versatile outdoor living space, offering adjustable shade and protection from light rain. Its robust aluminum frame and retractable canopy make it suitable for various outdoor settings.

2. Safety Information

Important Safety Precautions:

• This product must be installed on a stable, level surface.
• Properly secure the pergola to the ground or deck to prevent tipping, especially in windy conditions. Anchoring hardware is typically included or recommended.
• Always retract the canopy during strong winds, heavy rain, or snow to prevent damage to the canopy fabric and frame, and to avoid water accumulation.
• Regularly inspect all components for wear, damage, or loose connections. Tighten fasteners as needed.
• Do not hang heavy objects from the pergola frame.
• Keep children and pets away from the assembly area.
• Exercise caution and follow all provided assembly instructions carefully.

3. Package Contents

Before assembly, verify that all parts are present and undamaged. Refer to the detailed parts list provided in the separate assembly instructions included with your product. Components are typically organized in one or more boxes.

Tools required for assembly are generally included. Two people are recommended for assembly to ensure safety and efficiency.

4. Setup and Assembly

Follow the step-by-step assembly instructions provided in the separate manual included with your product. Below are general guidelines and important considerations:

• Site Preparation: Choose a stable, level surface for installation. Clear the area of any obstructions.
• Frame Assembly: Assemble the powder-coated aluminum frame according to the diagrams. Ensure all bolts and fasteners are securely tightened.
• Canopy Installation: Carefully attach the retractable canopy fabric to the frame, ensuring it slides smoothly along its tracks.
• Anchoring: The pergola features pre-drilled holes in the base plates for anchoring. Use appropriate anchors (e.g., ground stakes for soft ground, concrete anchors for patios, lag screws for wooden decks) to secure the pergola firmly to the ground. This is crucial for wind resistance.

5. Operating Instructions

Your VINGLI pergola features a retractable canopy system for adjustable shade and weather protection.

• Retracting the Canopy: To retract the canopy, gently pull the designated handle or mechanism to slide the fabric along its tracks. This allows you to control the amount of sun exposure.
• Extending the Canopy: To extend the canopy, push the handle or mechanism to fully cover the desired area.
• Weather Considerations: Always retract the canopy during strong winds, heavy rainfall, or snowfall to prevent damage and water accumulation. The canopy is designed for light rain protection only.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your pergola.

• Frame Cleaning: Clean the aluminum frame with a mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
• Canopy Cleaning: The premium low-fade, water-resistant fabric can be cleaned with a soft brush and mild soap and water. Allow it to air dry completely before retracting or storing. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
• Inspection: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and connections to ensure they are tight. Inspect the canopy fabric for any tears or damage.
• Winter Storage: In areas with heavy snow or extreme winter conditions, it is recommended to remove the canopy fabric and store it indoors.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pergola, refer to the following common solutions:

• Canopy not retracting/extending smoothly: Check the tracks for any obstructions or debris. Ensure the fabric is properly aligned. Lubricate tracks if necessary with a silicone-based spray.
• Pergola feels unstable: Verify that all frame connections are securely tightened. Ensure the pergola is properly anchored to a stable, level surface. Re-tighten anchors if they have loosened.
• Water pooling on canopy: This indicates the canopy is not fully retracted during rain or that the slope is insufficient. Always retract the canopy during significant rainfall.
• Rust spots on frame: While the frame is powder-coated for rust resistance, minor scratches can expose metal. Clean any rust spots and apply a rust-inhibiting paint to prevent further corrosion.
