Setup

  1. Unpacking and Assembly:
    • Carefully remove the pressure washer from its packaging.
    • Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and supplier.
    • Ensure all components listed in the "Components Overview" section are present.
    • Attach any components that may have been removed for shipping, such as the handle or wheels, following the manufacturer's instructions (if applicable).
  2. Fuel and Oil:
    • Engine Fuel: Fill the gasoline tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane). Do not overfill. Refer to the engine manual for specific fuel requirements.
    • Engine Oil: Check the engine oil level. Add or top off with the recommended engine oil as per the Honda engine manual.
    • Burner Fuel: Fill the 10-gallon burner fuel tank with diesel fuel.
  3. Water Supply Connection:
    • Connect a garden hose (minimum 5/8" diameter) to the water inlet of the pressure washer. Ensure the water source provides adequate flow (at least 4 GPM) and pressure.
    • Ensure the garden hose is free of kinks and obstructions.
    • Turn on the water supply fully.
  4. High-Pressure Hose and Wand Connection:
    • Connect one end of the 50' high-pressure hose to the high-pressure outlet on the pump.
    • Connect the other end of the high-pressure hose to the spray gun.
    • Attach the 36" wand assembly to the spray gun.
    • Select the desired nozzle and attach it to the quick coupler on the wand.
  5. Chemical Injection (Optional):
    • If using the downstream chemical injection system, connect the chemical siphon tube to the designated port and place the filter end into your cleaning solution container.

Operating Instructions

Starting the Pressure Washer

  1. Ensure all setup steps are completed.
  2. Open the water supply valve completely.
  3. Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to purge air from the pump and hose until a steady stream of water flows out. Release the trigger.
  4. Set the engine throttle to the "FAST" position.
  5. Turn the engine ignition key to the "START" position (electric start).
  6. Once the engine starts, allow it to warm up for a few moments.

Using the Hot Water Burner

  1. Ensure the burner fuel tank is filled with diesel.
  2. With the engine running, locate the burner switch and turn it to the "ON" position.
  3. Adjust the thermostat to the desired water temperature. The burner will ignite and begin heating the water.
  4. Monitor the water temperature. The burner will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
  5. Important: The burner requires the engine to be running at full throttle to fire correctly.

Nozzle Selection and Application

Different nozzles provide varying spray patterns and pressures for specific cleaning tasks.

Diagram of pressure washer nozzle types and their uses

Image: Visual guide to the included nozzle types and their recommended applications. This includes the Red (0° Cutting Nozzle) for concentrated stream, Yellow (15° Intense Washing Nozzle) for intense cleaning, Green (25° Washing Nozzle) for standard applications, White (40° Rinsing Nozzle) for delicate surfaces, and Black (Detergent Application Nozzle) for low-pressure chemical application.

  • Red (0°): Pinpoint stream for tough spots. Use with extreme caution; can damage surfaces.
  • Yellow (15°): Narrow, powerful spray for intense cleaning of hard, unpainted surfaces.
  • Green (25°): Medium-angle spray for general cleaning of most surfaces.
  • White (40°): Wide, gentle spray for rinsing and cleaning delicate surfaces.
  • Black (Soap Nozzle): Low-pressure spray for applying detergents. Activates the downstream chemical injection.

Always test the spray on an inconspicuous area first to avoid damaging the surface.

Shutting Down the Pressure Washer

  1. If using the burner, turn the burner switch to "OFF". Allow the water to cool by running cold water through the system for a few minutes.
  2. Turn the engine ignition key to "OFF".
  3. Turn off the water supply.
  4. Squeeze the spray gun trigger to relieve any remaining pressure in the system.
  5. Disconnect the garden hose and high-pressure hose.
  6. Drain any remaining water from the pump and hoses, especially before storing in freezing temperatures.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your pressure washer.

  • After Each Use:
    • Clean the exterior of the unit.
    • Inspect hoses, connections, and nozzles for wear or damage.
    • Flush the pump with clean water to remove any chemical residue.
  • Engine Maintenance:
    • Refer to the Honda engine owner's manual for detailed maintenance schedules, including oil changes, air filter cleaning/replacement, and spark plug inspection.
    • Check engine oil level before each use.
  • Pump Maintenance:
    • Check pump oil level regularly. Replace pump oil as recommended by the manufacturer (typically after the first 50 hours, then every 200-300 hours).
    • Inspect inlet screen filter for debris and clean as needed.
    • Winterize the pump if storing in freezing temperatures using a pump protector solution.
  • Burner System Maintenance:
    • Regularly inspect the burner coil for soot buildup. Clean as necessary to maintain efficiency.
    • Check the burner nozzle and electrodes for wear or damage. Replace if needed.
    • Ensure the burner fuel filter is clean.
  • General Inspection:
    • Check all fasteners for tightness.
    • Inspect tires for proper inflation and wear.
    • Ensure the frame is free of cracks or damage.
