5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Pymeter Reptile Heating Pad:

  1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the terrarium surface where the heat pad will be applied is clean, dry, and free of dust or debris.
  2. Apply Adhesive Tape: Use the provided nano traceless strong adhesive tape to secure the heat pad to the desired location on the terrarium. The pad can be mounted on the sides or bottom of the tank. This adhesive allows for removal and reuse without leaving residue.
  3. Position the Heat Pad: Place the heat pad on the exterior surface of the terrarium. For optimal heat distribution, ensure it is positioned where your reptile will benefit most from the warmth.
  4. Install the Temperature Probe: Fix the temperature probe securely at the hot spot within the terrarium where you need to monitor or maintain the temperature. This is crucial for accurate temperature regulation. Avoid placing the probe directly on the heat pad's surface inside the tank, as this may lead to inaccurate readings.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the heat pad's power cord into a standard 120V power outlet.

6.2. Using the Timer Function

The default timer mode is always "ON". To select a timed operation:

  • Press the TIME button to cycle through available timer settings: ON, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours.
  • Select the desired duration for the heat pad to operate. After the selected time, the heat pad will turn off.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: The heat mat is made from premium PVC material, making it simple to clean. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Ensure the unit is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Storage: When not in use, disconnect the power and allow the heat pad to cool. Store it flat or gently rolled to avoid damage to the internal heating elements. Avoid sharp folds.
  • Adhesive Tape: The nano traceless adhesive tape is reusable. If it loses stickiness, clean the surface of the tape and the terrarium.
