Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular Cleaning (Keurig K-Slim)
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
- Drip Tray: The drip tray can accumulate up to 9 oz. of overflow. Remove and empty the drip tray as needed. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Water Reservoir: Clean the water reservoir weekly by washing with warm, soapy water and rinsing thoroughly.
Using the Keurig Brewer Cleanse Kit
Regular cleaning with the Keurig Brewer Cleanse Kit helps maintain your coffee maker's performance and ensures better-tasting beverages by reducing mineral buildup and flavor carry-over.

Descaling Process (using Descaling Solution)
Descaling should be performed every 3-6 months, or when the descaling indicator light illuminates, to remove calcium deposits that can affect brewer performance.
- Prepare: Empty the water reservoir. Pour the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution into the reservoir, then fill the empty bottle with water and pour it into the reservoir.
- First Descale Brew: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Lift and lower the brewer handle without a K-Cup pod. Press the 12 oz. brew button. Repeat this process until the 'Add Water' light illuminates.
- Soak: Let the brewer stand for at least 30 minutes.
- Rinse Brews: After soaking, empty the reservoir and rinse it thoroughly. Fill the reservoir with fresh water. Perform at least 12 cleansing brews using the 12 oz. setting, discarding the water after each brew, until the descaling solution is completely flushed out.
Using Rinse Pods
Use Keurig Rinse Pods weekly or after brewing flavored beverages to reduce flavor carry-over and rinse away residue.
- Insert Rinse Pod: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Insert a Keurig Rinse Pod into the K-Cup pod holder.
- Brew: Close the handle and select the 8 oz. brew size. Press the brew button.
- Discard: Discard the hot water from the mug.
- Repeat: For best results, perform a second rinse brew with a new Rinse Pod.
