This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Apple Watch Ultra 2 (GPS + Cellular 49mm). Please read these instructions carefully to ensure proper use and to maximize the device's capabilities.

What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your Apple Watch Ultra 2, verify that all components are present:

  • Apple Watch Ultra 2 Case (49mm Titanium)
  • Watch Band (Olive Alpine Loop Small)
  • Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable (1m)

Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your Apple Watch Ultra 2 using the provided Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable. Connect the USB-C end to a compatible power adapter (sold separately) and the magnetic charger to the back of your watch.

2. Pairing with iPhone

  1. Ensure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version and has Bluetooth enabled.
  2. Turn on your Apple Watch by pressing and holding the side button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. Bring your iPhone near your Apple Watch. A pairing animation will appear on your iPhone. Tap "Continue".
  4. Position your iPhone so that your Apple Watch appears in the viewfinder in the Apple Watch app.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions on both your iPhone and Apple Watch to complete the pairing process, including setting up cellular service if desired.

3. Attaching the Band

Slide the Alpine Loop band into the slots on the Apple Watch case until you hear a click. Ensure both ends are securely fastened before wearing.

Operating Your Apple Watch Ultra 2

Key Controls

  • Digital Crown: Rotate to scroll, zoom, or adjust values. Press once to go to the watch face or app list. Double-press to switch between recent apps. Press and hold for Siri.
  • Side Button: Press once to open the Dock (recent apps). Press and hold for Emergency SOS or to power off. Double-press for Apple Pay.
  • Action Button: Customizable orange button on the left side. By default, it can start a workout, mark a Compass Waypoint, or begin a dive. Customize its function in Settings.

  • Always-On Retina Display: Provides clear visibility of information at a glance.
  • Precision Dual-Frequency GPS: Offers highly accurate location tracking for outdoor activities.
  • Cellular Connectivity: With a service plan, make calls, send texts, stream music, and use Maps without your iPhone nearby.

Fitness and Activity Tracking

The Workout app provides advanced metrics and experiences for various activities:

  • Running: Features include Heart Rate Zones, custom workouts, automatic track detection, and advanced running form metrics.
  • Cycling: Monitor speed, heart rate, elevation. Workouts automatically appear as Live Activities on your iPhone. Connect to Bluetooth accessories like power meters.
  • Hiking: Utilize offline maps for navigation. The Compass app provides heading, elevation, longitude, and latitude. Mark Waypoints and use Backtrack to retrace steps.
  • Swimming & Diving: Automatic stroke detection, lap count, splits, and custom workouts for pool swimming. Open water swimmers can view route maps. Full dive computer capabilities with the Oceanic+ app, sensing depth to 40 meters and water temperature. Certified EN13319.

  • ECG App: Take an electrocardiogram to check for signs of atrial fibrillation.

  • Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications: Receive alerts for potential heart rhythm irregularities.
  • Sleep Tracking: Monitor sleep patterns and receive notifications for signs of sleep apnea.
  • Emergency SOS: Press and hold the side button to quickly call emergency services.
  • Fall Detection: Automatically connects to emergency services if a hard fall is detected and you are unresponsive.
  • Crash Detection: Automatically connects to emergency services in the event of a severe car crash.
  • Siren: Activate a loud siren to attract attention in an emergency.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Apple Watch Ultra 2

  • Turn off your Apple Watch and disconnect it from the charger.
  • Wipe the watch and band with a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water.
  • For the watch case, you can use a small amount of mild, hypoallergenic hand soap if needed, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry with a soft cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or compressed air.

Battery Life Optimization

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 offers up to 36 hours of battery life under normal use and up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. To optimize battery performance:

  • Enable Low Power Mode when extended battery life is needed.
  • Manage background app refresh and notifications.
