1. Introduction

The Shark CleanSense IQ+ Cordless Vacuum (Model IW3241SM) is designed to provide efficient and convenient cleaning for your home. 2. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using your Shark CleanSense IQ+ Cordless Vacuum. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Always unplug the vacuum cleaner from the power outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Do not use the vacuum cleaner outdoors or on wet surfaces.
  • Do not allow children to operate the vacuum cleaner. Close supervision is necessary when used near children.
  • Do not pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.

4. Setup

4.1 Assembly

  1. Insert the wand into the main vacuum body until it clicks securely.
  2. Attach the desired floor nozzle (e.g., Multi-Surface Brushroll) to the end of the wand until it clicks.
  3. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

4.2 Charging

Place the assembled vacuum onto the Charging Auto Empty Dock. The indicator lights on the vacuum and dock will illuminate to show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 3.5 hours. The Auto Empty Dock also serves as a convenient storage solution.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

Press the power button to turn the vacuum on or off. Use the mode selection button on the LED display to cycle through the cleaning modes: ECO, IQ (AUTO), and BOOST.

  • ECO Mode: For light cleaning and extended runtime.
  • IQ (AUTO) Mode: Automatically adjusts suction power based on debris and surface type using Smart IQ PRO sensors.
  • BOOST Mode: Provides maximum suction for tough messes.

5.2 Smart IQ PRO Technology

The Smart IQ PRO system utilizes four sensors to optimize your cleaning experience:

  • Dirt Detect: Identifies hidden dirt and automatically boosts suction for thorough pickup.
  • Floor Detect: Recognizes floor type (hard floor, carpet) and optimizes suction accordingly.
  • Edge Detect: Enhances cleaning along edges and baseboards.
  • Light Detect: Illuminates dark areas to reveal hidden dust and debris.

5.3 Using Attachments

The CleanSense IQ+ comes with various attachments for specialized cleaning tasks. To attach, simply press the release button on the wand or main body and insert the desired tool until it clicks.

  • Duster Crevice Tool: Ideal for tight spaces, corners, and dusting delicate surfaces.
  • Wide Upholstery Tool: Designed for cleaning larger upholstered surfaces like sofas and mattresses.
  • Pet Multi-Tool: Effectively removes pet hair from upholstery and other surfaces.
  • Motorized Hand Tool: Provides powerful cleaning for smaller areas and pet hair.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Auto Empty System

The Auto Empty Dock automatically empties the vacuum's dust cup into a larger, sealed bin, providing up to 30 days of hands-free debris disposal. Ensure the dock's bin is emptied regularly to maintain optimal performance.

6.2 Emptying the Dust Cup (Manual)

If not using the Auto Empty Dock, or for quick emptying, detach the dust cup from the main body. Hold it over a trash bin and press the release latch to open the bottom flap and empty debris. Close the flap securely before reattaching.

6.3 Cleaning Filters

Regularly clean the pre-motor and post-motor filters to maintain suction power. Rinse filters with cold water and allow them to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinstallation. Do not operate the vacuum with wet filters.

6.4 Cleaning the Brushroll

Periodically check the brushroll for any hair, string, or debris entanglement. Use scissors to carefully cut away any wrapped material. Ensure the brushroll is free of obstructions for effective cleaning.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Shark CleanSense IQ+ Cordless Vacuum, refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Power: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Check if the power button is pressed.
  • Reduced Suction: Check for blockages in the nozzle, wand, or hose. Clean the dust cup and all filters as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Brushroll Not Spinning: Clear any obstructions from the brushroll. Ensure the floor nozzle is correctly attached.
  • Auto Empty Not Working: Check if the Auto Empty Dock's bin is full or if there are any blockages in the dock's suction path.
