5.2 Understanding the Display

The LCD screen displays real-time readings for Electric Fields (EF), Magnetic Fields (MF), and Radio Frequencies (RF). It also shows the current temperature and battery level.

  • EF (Electric Field): Measured in V/m (Volts per meter).
  • MF (Magnetic Field): Measured in mG (milligauss) or μT (microtesla).
  • RF (Radio Frequency): Measured in mW/m² (milliwatts per square meter).
  • Temperature: Displays ambient temperature.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows current battery life.

5.3 Button Functions

  • Power/Mute Button: Short press to turn on/off. Long press to mute/unmute the audible alarm.
  • Unit/APO Button: Short press to cycle through measurement units for Magnetic Field (mG/μT). Long press to disable/enable Auto Power Off (APO).
  • Hold/Max Button: Short press to hold the current reading on the screen. Press again to release. Long press to display the maximum detected value.

5.4 Alarm Thresholds and Indicators

The device uses color-coded indicators and an audible alarm to signify EMF levels:

  • Green: Safe levels.
  • Yellow: Alert levels (audible alarm may be slow).
  • Red: Avoid levels (audible alarm is fast).

Specific thresholds for the RD630 are:

CategoryEF (V/m)MF (mG)MF (μT)RF (mW/m²)
Safe<250<5<0.5<50
Alert250-5005-100.5-150-100
Avoid>500>10>1>100
