Key Components:

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the phone.
  2. Carefully remove the cover.
  3. Insert the Lithium Ion battery, aligning the gold contacts with the terminals in the phone.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it is securely latched to maintain waterproofing.

2. SIM Card and MicroSD Card Installation

  1. With the battery removed, locate the SIM card slot(s) and microSD card slot. The phone supports Dual 4FF Nano SIM cards and up to 512GB microSD.
  2. Insert your Nano SIM card(s) into the designated slot(s) with the gold contacts facing down.
  3. If using, insert a microSD card into its slot until it clicks into place.
  4. Reinstall the battery and battery cover.

3. Initial Charging

  1. Connect the USB-C cable to the phone's charging port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to the provided Power Adapter.
  3. Plug the Power Adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. Allow the phone to charge completely before first use. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

Power On/Off

Making Calls

  1. From the home screen, use the keypad to dial the desired number.
  2. Press the green Call button to initiate the call.
  3. To end a call, press the red End Call button.

Push-to-Talk (PTT) Functionality

The Sonim XP5 Plus features enhanced PTT capabilities for instant communication.

Messaging

To send and receive text messages:

  1. Navigate to the Messaging application from the main menu.
  2. Select "New Message" and enter the recipient's number or select from contacts.
  3. Type your message using the keypad.
  4. Press the Send button.
