Setup
- Unpack the Keyboard: Carefully remove the keyboard and all accessories from the packaging.
- Connect the Wrist Rest: Align the magnetic plush leatherette wrist rest with the front edge of the keyboard. It will snap into place.
- Connect to Computer: Plug the braided Type A to Type C cable into the USB-C port on the keyboard and then into an available USB-A port on your computer.
- Driver Installation: Your computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. For full customization of RGB lighting, key assignments, and other advanced features, download and install the Razer Synapse software from the official Razer website.
Operating Instructions
Basic Keyboard Functions
- Typing: Use the standard QWERTY layout for text input.
- Function Keys (F1-F12): These keys can perform their primary function or secondary multimedia/utility functions when pressed in combination with the Fn key.
- Arrow Keys: Navigate through menus and text.
Multi-Function Roller and Media Keys
- Volume Control: Rotate the roller to adjust system volume.
- Media Playback: Use the dedicated media keys (play/pause, skip forward, skip backward) for audio and video control.
- Customization: The roller and media keys can be re-programmed using Razer Synapse for other functions.
Razer Chroma RGB Lighting
- Default Effects: The keyboard comes with pre-set lighting effects.
- Customization with Razer Synapse: Download and install Razer Synapse to access a wide range of lighting effects, create custom profiles, and synchronize lighting with other Razer Chroma-enabled devices and integrated games.
Hot-Swapping Switches
To change key switches:
- Power Off: Disconnect the keyboard from your computer.
- Remove Keycap: Use the keycap puller tool to gently remove the desired keycap.
- Remove Switch: Use the switch puller end of the 2-in-1 tool to carefully grip and pull the switch upwards.
- Insert New Switch: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Press firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
- Replace Keycap: Press the keycap onto the new switch.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the keyboard with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys. You may remove keycaps using the provided tool for thorough cleaning.
- Switch Care: Avoid spilling liquids on the keyboard. If a switch feels inconsistent, it may be replaced using the hot-swappable feature.
- Cable Management: Ensure the USB-C cable is not excessively bent or strained to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard Not Responding:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
- Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing:
- This can sometimes be caused by dust or debris under the keycap or within the switch. Remove the keycap and switch (if hot-swappable) and clean the area.
- If the issue persists, the switch may be faulty. Utilize the hot-swappable design to replace the affected switch with a new one.
- Ensure Razer Synapse software is up to date.
- RGB Lighting Not Working:
- Verify that Razer Synapse software is installed and running.
- Check lighting settings within Razer Synapse to ensure effects are enabled.
- Ensure the keyboard is receiving sufficient power from the USB port.
- Wrist Rest Not Attaching Securely:
- Ensure there is no obstruction between the keyboard and the wrist rest.
- Verify that the wrist rest is correctly aligned with the magnetic points on the keyboard.
