Mount the front camera behind your rearview mirror using the provided static stickers. Route the cables along the windshield and trim for a clean installation. The rear camera can be mounted on the rear window, with its cable tucked along the vehicle's interior paneling. Ensure all connections are secure.

Initial Configuration:

After powering on the dash cam, you can configure settings directly on the device using its menu buttons or via the VIOFO App. For easier configuration and access to advanced features, activate the 5GHz Wi-Fi on the dash cam and connect your smartphone to it. The app allows for real-time footage preview, photo/video download, and adjustment of various settings.

Operating Instructions

The VIOFO A229 Plus offers various operating modes and settings to customize your recording experience.

Voice Control:

Control your dash cam hands-free with 12 voice commands, including 'take photo', 'lock the video', 'turn on WiFi', and 'show front/rear camera'. The dash cam also provides clear voice notifications for setting changes or memory card errors.

Recording Modes & Settings:

Adjust video resolution, bitrate, and loop recording duration. The dash cam supports 2K+2K (1440P) recording for both front and rear channels. HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology can be enabled for improved clarity in challenging lighting conditions, especially for capturing license plate details.

Loop recording ensures continuous operation by overwriting older files when the memory card is full. The built-in G-sensor automatically locks footage in case of a collision or sudden impact.

Important Tips:

• Use only the original car charger. Avoid mobile phone chargers or data cables.
• Purchase a U1/U3 high-speed microSD card separately as it is not included.
• The rear camera cable is 6 meters. Do not stick it to the defroster lines.
• Adjust the screen saver time in the settings menu.
• Enable GPS to download videos to your device. The map display appears only during video playback.
