2. Important Safety Instructions

5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

The Lenco DAR-017WH can be powered by the included AC adapter or by batteries.

• AC Power: Connect the AC adapter to the DC 9V IN port on the rear of the radio and plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
• Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the rear. Insert 4 x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.

Note: When using batteries, ensure the main ON/OFF switch on the rear is in the 'ON' position.

5.2 Antenna Adjustment

Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal DAB+ and FM radio reception. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.

5.3 Initial Power On

After connecting power, ensure the main ON/OFF switch on the rear is set to 'ON'. Press the Power button on the front panel to turn on the radio. The display will light up.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Mode Selection

Press the Mode button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: DAB+, FM, Bluetooth, and AUX.

6.2 DAB+ Radio Operation

1. Switch to DAB+ mode using the Mode button.
2. Upon first use, the radio will automatically perform a full scan for available DAB+ stations. This may take a few minutes.
3. Once the scan is complete, use the Previous/Next Station buttons or rotate the Rotary Knob to browse the list of stations. Press the OK button to select a station.
4. Storing Presets: To save a station, press and hold the Preset button. Use the Rotary Knob to select a preset number (1-10), then press OK to confirm.
5. Recalling Presets: Briefly press the Preset button. Use the Rotary Knob to select the desired preset, then press OK.

6.3 FM Radio Operation

1. Switch to FM mode using the Mode button.
2. Auto Scan: Press and hold the OK button to automatically scan for and store available FM stations.
3. Manual Tuning: Briefly press the Previous/Next Station buttons to fine-tune the frequency.
4. Storing Presets: To save a station, press and hold the Preset button. Use the Rotary Knob to select a preset number (1-10), then press OK to confirm.
5. Recalling Presets: Briefly press the Preset button. Use the Rotary Knob to select the desired preset, then press OK.

6.4 Bluetooth Pairing

1. Switch to Bluetooth mode using the Mode button. The display will show "Bluetooth Pairing" or similar, and an indicator will flash.
2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.

6.5 Alarm and Snooze Function

The DAR-017WH features a dual alarm function.

1. Press the Alarm button to enter alarm settings.
2. Use the Rotary Knob to select Alarm 1 or Alarm 2, then press OK.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the alarm time, source (DAB+, FM, or Buzzer), and volume. Press OK to confirm each setting.
4. When an alarm sounds, press the Sleep button to activate the snooze function. The alarm will sound again after a set interval.
5. To turn off an alarm, press the Power button.

6.6 Auxiliary Input (AUX IN)

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUX IN port on the rear of the radio using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). Switch to AUX mode using the Mode button. Audio from the connected device will play through the radio's speaker.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: If using batteries, replace all four AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or when performance degrades. Ensure correct polarity.
• Storage: If storing the radio for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
