4. Setup Guide

4.1 Powering the Radio

1. AC Power:
   • Connect the supplied AC adapter to the "DC 5V IN" port on the back of the radio.
   • Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet.
2. Battery Power:
   • Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio (refer to Figure 2.3).
   • Insert 4x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
   • Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Initial Power On and Antenna Adjustment

1. Slide the ON/OFF switch on the back of the radio to the "ON" position.
2. The display will light up, and the radio may prompt you to select a language or perform an automatic DAB+ scan. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal radio reception (refer to Figure 2.2). Adjust its position for the best signal quality.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Controls

• Power Button (Ⓞ): Press to turn the radio on or off (standby mode).
• Mode Button: Press to switch between DAB+, FM, Bluetooth, and AUX modes.
• MENU Button: Access the main menu for settings and options.
• OK/▶ Button: Confirm selections or play/pause in Bluetooth mode.
• Rotary Knob (- VOL +): Rotate to adjust volume, navigate menus, or tune stations. Press to confirm.
• ◀/Stations Button: Navigate backward in menus or skip to the previous station/track.
• ►/Stations Button: Navigate forward in menus or skip to the next station/track.
• PRESET Button: Access or save radio station presets.
• ALARM Button: Set and manage alarms.
• SLEEP Button: Set a sleep timer.

5.2 DAB+ Radio Mode

1. Press the MODE button until "DAB+" is displayed.
2. The radio will automatically scan for available DAB+ stations upon first use or if prompted.
3. Rotate the Rotary Knob to browse through the list of available stations.
4. Press the Rotary Knob or OK/▶ button to select a station.
5. Saving Presets:
   • Tune to the desired DAB+ station.
   • Press and hold the PRESET button until "Preset Store" appears.
   • Rotate the Rotary Knob to select a preset number (1-10).
   • Press the Rotary Knob or OK/▶ button to confirm.
6. Recalling Presets:
   • Press the PRESET button (do not hold) until "Preset Recall" appears.
   • Rotate the Rotary Knob to select the desired preset number.
   • Press the Rotary Knob or OK/▶ button to tune to the saved station.

5.3 FM Radio Mode

1. Press the MODE button until "FM" is displayed.
2. Auto Scan: Press and hold the OK/▶ button to automatically scan for and stop at the next available FM station.
3. Manual Tuning: Rotate the Rotary Knob to manually tune to a specific frequency.
4. Saving and Recalling Presets: Follow the same procedure as for DAB+ presets (see 5.2).

5.4 Bluetooth Mode

1. Press the MODE button until "Bluetooth" is displayed. The radio will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon or message.
2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
3. Select "Lenco DAR-017" from the list of devices.
4. Once paired, the radio will confirm the connection, and you can stream audio from your device.
5. Use the ◀/Stations and ►/Stations buttons to skip tracks, and the OK/▶ button to play/pause.

5.5 AUX Mode

1. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the 3.5mm AUX IN port on the back of the radio using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
2. Press the MODE button until "AUX" is displayed.
3. Control playback from your external audio device. The radio's volume control will still function.

5.6 Alarm Clock Function

1. Press the ALARM button. You can set two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).
2. Rotate the Rotary Knob to select Alarm 1 or Alarm 2, then press to confirm.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to set:
   • Alarm Time: Rotate and press to set hours and minutes.
   • Alarm Source: Choose Buzzer, DAB+, or FM.
   • Alarm Volume: Set the desired wake-up volume.
   • Alarm Frequency: Select Daily, Weekdays, Weekends, or Once.
   • Alarm Status: Turn the alarm ON or OFF.
4. When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it. The alarm will sound again after a set interval.
5. To turn off a sounding alarm, press the Power Button.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio's surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: If using batteries, replace all four AA batteries simultaneously when the low battery indicator appears or when the radio's performance degrades. Ensure correct polarity.
• Storage: If storing the radio for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Antenna Care: Handle the telescopic antenna gently to avoid bending or breaking.
