4. Setup

4.1 Initial Inspection

Upon unpacking, inspect the clipper and all accessories for any signs of damage. If any damage is found, do not use the appliance and contact customer support.

4.2 Oiling the Blades

Before first use, and after every few haircuts, apply 2-3 drops of the included Wahl clipper oil to the teeth of the blades. Turn the clipper on for a few seconds to allow the oil to distribute evenly. Wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.

4.3 Attaching Guide Combs

To attach a guide comb, hold the comb with the teeth facing up. Align the comb with the clipper blade and slide it firmly onto the blade until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely fastened before use. To remove, gently pull the comb away from the blade.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

Plug the clipper into a suitable electrical outlet. Locate the power switch on the side of the clipper. Push the switch to the 'ON' position to start the clipper. To turn off, push the switch to the 'OFF' position and unplug from the outlet.

5.2 Using the Adjustable Taper Lever

The taper lever is located on the side of the clipper. Moving the lever up (towards the blade) will shorten the cutting length, while moving it down (away from the blade) will lengthen it. This allows for fine-tuning of cutting lengths between 1mm and 3.5mm without changing guide combs, making it ideal for blending and fading.

5.3 Hair Cutting Techniques

For best results, ensure hair is clean and dry. Always start with a longer guide comb than you think you need, and gradually work down to shorter lengths. Hold the clipper with the blade flat against the head and move it slowly against the direction of hair growth. Overlap strokes to ensure an even cut.

  • Even Cuts: Use the appropriate guide comb and move the clipper steadily.
  • Blending: Use the taper lever to gradually transition between different hair lengths.
  • Fading: Start with a shorter length at the bottom and gradually increase the length as you move up the head, using the taper lever and different guide combs.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your clipper.

6.1 Cleaning the Blades

After each use, turn off and unplug the clipper. Use the included cleaning brush to brush away any loose hair from the blades. For a more thorough cleaning, you can carefully remove the blade set (refer to specific instructions if provided in a separate detailed manual) and clean under running water, ensuring to dry completely before reattaching.

6.2 Oiling the Blades

Regular oiling is crucial for blade performance and lifespan. Apply 2-3 drops of Wahl clipper oil to the top and sides of the blades after every few haircuts or as needed. Turn the clipper on for a few seconds to distribute the oil, then wipe off any excess.

6.3 Storage

Store the clipper and its accessories in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Use the blade guard to protect the blades when not in use.
