This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Alcatel E160 Duo DECT Cordless Phone. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your phone to ensure proper functionality and to take full advantage of its features.

2. Package Contents
Verify that your package contains the following items:

3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset.
- Slide the cover downwards to open.
- Insert the supplied NiMH AAA rechargeable battery, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

3.2. Base Station Connection
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE socket on the base station.
- Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your telephone wall socket.
- Plug the small end of the power adapter into the DC IN socket on the base station.
- Plug the large end of the power adapter into a mains power outlet.
- Place the handset(s) on their respective charging bases. The battery icon on the handset display will indicate charging. Allow at least 15 hours for the initial charge.
Note: Only one base station connects to the telephone line. The second charging base is for the additional handset and only requires power.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Handset Overview

The Alcatel E160 features a large 2-line backlit display for easy readability. Key buttons include:
- OK/MENU: Accesses the main menu and confirms selections.
- Up/Down Arrows: Navigate through menu options and adjust volume.
- Call/Green Button: Makes and answers calls.
- End/Red Button: Ends calls and exits menus.
- INT: Initiates an internal call between handsets (if multiple handsets are registered).
- Call Block Button (Shield Icon): Dedicated button for nuisance call blocking.
- Phonebook Button (Book Icon): Quick access to the phonebook.
4.2. Making and Receiving Calls
Making a Call:
- Press the Call/Green Button.
- Dial the desired phone number using the keypad.
- Press the Call/Green Button again to initiate the call.
- To end the call, press the End/Red Button.
Receiving a Call:
- When the phone rings, press the Call/Green Button to answer.
- To end the call, press the End/Red Button.
4.3. Phonebook Management
The phonebook can store up to 50 names and numbers.
Adding a Contact:
- Press OK/MENU.
- Navigate to PHONEBOOK and press OK.
- Select ADD NEW and press OK.
- Enter the name using the keypad (multi-press for letters).
- Press OK.
- Enter the phone number.
- Press OK to save.
Calling from Phonebook:
- Press the Phonebook Button (Book Icon) or navigate to PHONEBOOK via the menu.
- Use the Up/Down Arrows to scroll through contacts.
- Press the Call/Green Button to dial the selected contact.

4.4. Nuisance Call Blocking
The Alcatel E160 Duo features a dedicated button to block unwanted calls. You can block up to 50 numbers.
Blocking a Number During a Call:
- During an active call from an unwanted number, press the Call Block Button (Shield Icon). The call will be terminated and the number added to the block list.
Blocking a Number from Call Log or Manually:
- Access the CALL LOG via the menu.
- Select the number you wish to block.
- Press OK/MENU, then navigate to ADD TO BLOCKLIST and confirm.
- Alternatively, you can manually add numbers to the block list through the menu: MENU > CALL BLOCK > ADD NUMBER.

4.5. Call Log
The detailed call log allows you to review missed, received, and dialed calls. You can call back numbers directly from the log or add them to your phonebook/block list.
- Press OK/MENU.
- Navigate to CALL LOG and press OK.
- Use the Up/Down Arrows to scroll through entries.
- Press the Call/Green Button to dial a selected number.
4.6. VIP Function
The VIP function allows you to assign a specific ringtone to important contacts in your phonebook. This helps you identify callers by their ringtone.
- Go to PHONEBOOK and select the desired contact.
- Press OK/MENU and navigate to EDIT.
- Scroll to the RINGTONE option.
- Select a distinct ringtone for this contact and confirm.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning
- Wipe the handset and base station with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia, benzene, or abrasives, as these may damage the device.
- Ensure the phone is disconnected from the power outlet before cleaning.
5.2. Battery Care
- Use only the supplied rechargeable NiMH batteries.
