3. Installation

Follow these steps to install your Thermostatic Radiator Valve:

  1. Remove Existing Thermostatic Head: Before starting, carefully remove your existing thermostatic head from the radiator valve.
  2. Insert Batteries: Press the battery compartment latch and remove the shell. Insert three 1.5V LR6 alkaline AA batteries into the device, ensuring correct polarity. Align the battery compartment latch and close the shell. Wait a few seconds until the 'M' icon stops flashing.
  3. Install Device to Valve Interface: Install the TRVZB device onto the radiator valve interface.
  4. Initialize Device: Short press the middle button. The 'Ad' icon will start flashing. Wait a few seconds until the device displays the initialization interface, indicating debugging is completed.

4. Pairing

To pair your device with the eWeLink app:

  1. Download eWeLink App: Download the eWeLink App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Prepare Zigbee Gateway: Ensure you have a Zigbee gateway (e.g., SONOFF ZBBridge-P V1.6.0 or later) and it is properly added to your eWeLink app.
  3. Enter Pairing Mode: Turn the knob counter-clockwise until the screen displays 'OF'. Short press the middle button for 3 seconds. The screen icon '📶' will flash, indicating the device has entered pairing mode.
  4. Add Device in App: Open the eWeLink App, navigate to your gateway's homepage, and select 'Add Device'. The app will search for and connect to the TRVZB. Once connected, you can control the device via the app.

5.1 Smart Control via eWeLink App

5.3 Open Window Detection

The device can automatically detect open windows and temporarily turn off the radiator to prevent unnecessary energy waste. This feature helps in maintaining energy efficiency.

5.4 Historical Data

5.5 Percentage Adjusting

The valve opening (or closing) ratio is adjustable, allowing you to fine-tune the heating output for a comfortable temperature. You can set the ratio from 0% to 100%.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues and their solutions:

  • I. What should I do if the thermostatic radiator valve doesn't turn on after inserting the batteries?
    1. Ensure that the battery is a non-rechargeable 1.5V LR6 Alkaline AA Battery.
    2. Ensure that the battery is within the validity period.
    3. Ensure batteries are in good condition, with no signs of leaks, corrosion, or swelling.
    4. Ensure batteries are inserted according to their polarity.
  • II. What does it mean when the screen keeps displaying '🔒'? What should I do?

    It means that the child lock is enabled on the device. Press the "Middle button" for 3 seconds, then the '🔒' on the screen will disappear, with child lock disabled.

  • III. What if the screen does not display 'M'?

    If the screen displays "F5" or "Ad", press the middle button and "M" will display again.

  • IV. How to judge whether the device is in auto mode or manual mode?

    Auto mode: When '🕔' is displayed on screen, it means the auto mode is on. Manual mode: When '🕔' disappears on screen, it means the manual mode is on.

  • V. How to switch between automatic mode and manual mode?

    Shortly press "Middle button" to switch between the two modes.

  • VI. What should I do if the device screen display is reversed?

    Dismount the shell, and press "Configuration key" for 3 seconds to change the screen display direction.

  • VII. How to restore factory settings?

    Press "Middle button" for a longer time and at the same time put batteries in, then the screen displays "FA" and blinks for 3 seconds. After that, the device is reset to factory settings and is automatically restarted. Note: All previous settings will be removed after the device is reset to factory settings.

  • VIII. What do these Error codes mean and how to solve them?
    1. F0: It means that the temperature sensor is abnormal, please contact the after-sales personnel.
    2. F1: It means slow valve operation, please check installation status and heating valve.
    3. F2: It means an excessively wide adjustment range, please check whether temperature controller is fastened.
    4. F3: It means an excessively small adjustment range, please check the heating valve.
    5. F4: It means the battery runs out, please replace the battery.
    6. F5: It means no valve was detected, please check whether the valve is installed.
