3. Setup Guide

3.1 Unpacking and Assembly

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Ensure all listed components are present.
  3. Assemble the feeder by placing the stainless steel bowl into its designated slot.
  4. Insert the desiccant bag into the designated compartment under the lid to maintain food freshness.

3.2 Power Connection

The feeder supports a dual power system for reliable operation.

  • Connect the provided USB cable to the feeder and a 5V/1A USB adapter (not included).
  • For backup power, insert three 3A batteries (not included) into the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit. This ensures feeding continues during power outages.

3.3 App Download and Connection

To utilize the smart features, download the PETKIT App and connect your feeder.

  1. Download the "PETKIT" App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Open the app and register or log in to your account.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your PETKIT Automatic Pet Feeder. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
  4. Once connected, you can begin customizing your pet's feeding schedule.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Food Tank

  1. Open the top lid of the feeder.
  2. Pour dry pet food into the tank. Ensure the kibble size is less than 12mm to prevent blockages.
  3. Close the lid securely, ensuring the pet-proof lock is engaged.

4.2 Scheduling Meals via App

The PETKIT App allows for flexible and precise meal scheduling.

  • Open the PETKIT App and select your feeder.
  • Navigate to the "Feeding Plan" section.
  • Set the desired number of meals per day (up to 10).
  • For each meal, specify the portion size (1-5 portions, 1/10 cup per portion).
  • Save your feeding plan. The feeder will automatically dispense food at the scheduled times.

4.3 Manual Feeding

You can manually dispense food at any time using the button on the feeder or through the app.

  • On Feeder: Press the manual feed button located on the front of the feeder. One press dispenses one portion.
  • Via App: In the PETKIT App, select the "Feed Now" option and choose the desired number of portions.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures hygiene and extends the life of your feeder. All parts are detachable for easy cleaning.

5.1 Disassembly for Cleaning

  1. Ensure the feeder is unplugged and batteries are removed.
  2. Remove the stainless steel bowl.
  3. Detach the food tank lid, food tank, and dispensing module.

5.2 Cleaning Instructions

  • Wash the stainless steel bowl, food tank, and dispensing module with mild soap and water.
  • Rinse thoroughly and allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly.
  • Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the main unit in water.
  • Replace the desiccant bag every 30 days or as indicated by the app for optimal food freshness.

6. Troubleshooting
