Setup Instructions
- Connect Power (Optional but Recommended): Connect a USB-C power adapter (not included) to the USB-C PD-IN (100W Max) port on the hub. This provides power to your laptop and ensures stable operation for all connected devices.
- Connect to Laptop: Plug the integrated USB-C cable from the hub into an available USB-C port on your laptop. Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode for full functionality.
- Connect External Displays:
- For HDMI displays, connect HDMI cables from your monitors to the HDMI (4K@60) and HDMI (4K@30) ports on the hub.
- For VGA displays, connect a VGA cable from your monitor to the VGA (1080p@60Hz) port on the hub.
- Connect Peripherals: Plug your USB devices (keyboard, mouse, external drives, etc.) into the available USB-A and USB-C data ports.
- Connect to Network: For a wired internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet (1 Gbps) port on the hub.

- Connect Audio Devices: Plug headphones or speakers into the Audio IN / OUT port.
Your operating system should automatically detect the connected devices. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section or your laptop's display settings.
Operating Instructions
Once the Anker 14-in-1 USB-C Hub is connected, it operates automatically. The primary functions include extending or mirroring your display, transferring data, and providing power to your laptop.
Display Configuration
The hub supports triple display output. The behavior of extended displays varies between Windows and macOS.

Image: A visual comparison showing how extended display mode works differently on Windows (supports distinct content on each monitor) versus macOS (mirrors content across external monitors).
For Windows Users:
- Windows supports different content on each external monitor, allowing for extended desktop functionality across up to three external displays plus your laptop screen.
- To configure display settings, right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings" (Windows 10/11).

Image: Examples of display modes for Windows, including Mirror Mode, Extended Mode, and Windows supporting MST for multiple distinct displays.
For macOS Users:
- For macOS, the display on external monitors will be identical (mirrored). macOS does not support Multi-Stream Transport (MST) for distinct extended displays via this hub.
- To configure display settings, go to System Settings > Displays.

Power Delivery
The hub supports 80W pass-through charging to your laptop when a 100W USB-C PD charger is connected to the hub's PD-IN port. This allows you to charge your laptop while using the hub's other functions.

Note: A power allocation of 20W is reserved when connected to PD-IN greater than 65W, and 15W is reserved when connected to PD-IN less than or equal to 65W. Wall charger is not included.
Data Transfer
Utilize the USB-A and USB-C data ports for high-speed file transfers up to 5 Gbps. This is ideal for external hard drives, flash drives, and other data-intensive peripherals.

- Laptop Compatibility: Verify your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- Driver Updates: Ensure your laptop's graphics drivers are up to date.
- Restart: Disconnect the hub, restart your laptop, then reconnect the hub.
Slow Data Transfer Speeds:
- USB Port Type: Ensure you are using the 5 Gbps USB-A or USB-C data ports for high-speed devices. Some USB-A ports may be USB 2.0 (480 Mbps).
- Device Compatibility: Verify the connected device (e.g., external hard drive) supports USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 speeds.
- Cable Quality: Use high-quality USB cables.
No Network Connection:
- Cable Check: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the hub and your router/modem.
- Driver: Your operating system should automatically install the Ethernet driver. If not, check your laptop's device manager for any network adapter issues.
