  • Power Management: Unplug the TV from the power outlet during lightning storms or when it will be left unattended for long periods.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TCL Roku TV, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Picture / Black Screen:
Check if the TV is powered on and the power cable is securely connected. Ensure the correct input source is selected. Try power cycling the TV by unplugging it from the wall for 60 seconds, then plugging it back in.
  • No Sound or Distorted Sound:
Verify the volume is not muted or set too low. Check audio cable connections to external sound systems. If using internal speakers, ensure they are selected in the audio settings. Some users have reported intermittent sound issues or a 'loud whine'; try restarting the TV or checking for software updates.
  • Network Connection Issues:
Go to Settings > Network > Check connection to diagnose network problems. Ensure your Wi-Fi router is working correctly and within range. Try restarting your router and the TV. For a more stable connection, consider using an Ethernet cable.
  • Remote Control Not Responding:
Replace the 'AAA' batteries in the remote. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV's IR sensor.
  • Apps Not Loading or Crashing:
Ensure your TV's software is up to date. Try restarting the TV. If the issue persists with a specific app, try removing and reinstalling the app from the Roku Streaming Store.
