4. Setup Guide

4.1. Battery Charging

Before first use, fully charge all three intelligent flight batteries.

  1. Connect the USB charging cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included).
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the charging port on each 1500mAh intelligent battery.
  3. The battery indicator lights will show charging progress. Once all lights are solid, the battery is fully charged.

4.2. Propeller Installation

Ensure propellers are securely attached before each flight. Use the provided screwdriver for installation.

  • Match the propellers with the corresponding motor arms (usually marked A/B or with specific shapes).
  • Securely fasten the propellers using the provided screws.

4.3. Drone Preparation

Unfold the drone arms carefully before powering on.

  1. Gently unfold the front arms first, then the rear arms until they click into place.
  2. Insert a charged battery into the drone's battery compartment until it is securely latched.

4.4. Remote Controller Setup

The Holy Stone HS360S features an enhanced remote controller that connects directly to your smartphone via a data cable, eliminating the need for Wi-Fi for real-time image streaming.

  1. Pull up the phone holder on the remote controller and securely place your smartphone.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the remote controller using the appropriate data cable (Lightning, USB-C, or Micro USB, depending on your phone).
  3. Download and install the official Holy Stone app (refer to the QR code on the controller or manual for download links).
  4. Power on the remote controller.
  5. Power on the drone.
  6. Launch the Holy Stone app on your smartphone. The app should automatically connect to the drone via the wired connection.

5. Operating the Drone

5.1. Basic Flight Controls

Familiarize yourself with the remote controller's layout and functions. The HS360S offers a Beginner Mode for easier control.

  • Takeoff/Landing: Use the dedicated one-key takeoff/landing button for automated ascent and descent.
  • Altitude Hold: The drone maintains a stable altitude automatically, allowing you to focus on direction.
  • Speed Mode: Adjust flight speed for different environments and skill levels.
  • Emergency Stop: A dedicated button for immediate motor shutdown in emergencies.

5.2. Intelligent Flight Modes

Enhance your flying experience with the drone's intelligent flight features:

  • Follow Me: The drone automatically tracks your movements, keeping you in the frame.
  • Waypoint Flight: Plan a custom flight path by tapping points on the map in the app, and the drone will follow it.
  • Point of Interest: Select a central point, and the drone will circle around it, capturing cinematic footage.
  • Smart Return Home (RTH): The drone will automatically return to its takeoff point when the battery is low, signal is lost, or the RTH button is pressed.

5.3. Camera Operation

The 4K UHD camera captures stunning visuals.

  • Photo/Video Capture: Use the dedicated buttons on the remote control or the app interface to take 3840x2160P photos and 4K videos.

  • Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for any cracks, bends, or damage. Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spares and screwdriver.
  • Battery Care:
    • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
    • Do not overcharge or over-discharge batteries.
    • If storing for extended periods, charge batteries to approximately 50-60% capacity.
  • Motor Inspection: Ensure the brushless motors are free from debris and spin freely.
