Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the speaker's controls and ports:
- Power Button: Located on the side, used for powering on/off and pairing.
- Bluetooth Pairing Button: Activates Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Volume Up/Next Track Button: Increases volume or skips to the next track.
- Volume Down/Previous Track Button: Decreases volume or goes to the previous track.

Setup
1. Charging the Speaker
- Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the speaker's USB-C port.
- Connect the other end of the cable (USB-A) to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
- The LED indicators will show the charging status. A full charge is indicated when all LEDs are solid.
A full charge provides up to 18 hours of playtime.
2. Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds. You will hear an audible tone, and the LED indicators will light up.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds. You will hear an audible tone, and the LEDs will turn off.
3. Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure the speaker is powered on and within range of your Bluetooth device.
- Press the Bluetooth Pairing button on the speaker. The LED indicator will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
- On your device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), go to Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
- Select "Skullcandy Terrain XL" from the list of available devices.
- Once connected, you will hear a confirmation tone, and the LED indicator will turn solid.
4. Multi-Link Pairing (True Wireless Stereo)
The Terrain XL speaker supports Multi-Link, allowing you to connect up to 99 Skullcandy Terrain speakers for a synchronized audio experience.
- Ensure all speakers you wish to link are powered on and not currently paired to any Bluetooth device.
- On the first speaker (which will act as the primary), pair it with your Bluetooth device as described in step 3.
- On the primary speaker, press the Multi-Link button. The LED will flash.
- On each additional speaker you want to link, press its Multi-Link button.
- The speakers will automatically connect to each other. A confirmation tone will sound, and the Multi-Link LEDs on all connected speakers will turn solid.

Operating Instructions
Basic Controls
- Play/Pause: Press the Power button once.
- Volume Up: Press the Volume Up button once.
- Volume Down: Press the Volume Down button once.
- Next Track: Press and hold the Volume Up button for 2 seconds.
- Previous Track: Press and hold the Volume Down button for 2 seconds.
Multi-Link Operation
- Once speakers are linked, audio playback and volume control from your paired device will be synchronized across all connected speakers.
- To disconnect a single speaker from the Multi-Link group, press its Multi-Link button.
- To disconnect all speakers, power off the primary speaker or disconnect it from your Bluetooth device.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Wipe the speaker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed when not charging to maintain IPX7 water resistance.
Storage
- Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% to preserve battery health.

Troubleshooting
- Speaker not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the speaker to a power source using the USB-C cable.
- Cannot pair via Bluetooth:
- Ensure the speaker is in pairing mode (flashing LED).
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and it is within 10 meters of the speaker.
- Forget "Skullcandy Terrain XL" from your device's Bluetooth list and try pairing again.
- Power cycle both the speaker and your Bluetooth device.
- No sound or low volume:
- Check the volume levels on both the speaker and your connected device.
- Ensure the speaker is properly paired and connected.
- Multi-Link not working:
- Ensure all speakers are Skullcandy Terrain models and are not individually paired to a Bluetooth device before initiating Multi-Link.
- Follow the Multi-Link pairing steps carefully, starting with the primary speaker.
- Sound quality issues: Ensure the speaker's firmware is up to date via the Skullcandy app. Some users have reported improved sound quality after a firmware update.
