5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will prolong the life and effectiveness of your car phone mount.
- Cleaning the Suction Cup: If the suction cup loses its stickiness due to dust or debris, simply rinse it with warm water and let it air dry. Do not use alcohol wipes or harsh chemicals. Once dry, its adhesive properties will be restored.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the phone cradle and mount with a soft, damp cloth as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Temperature Exposure: While designed for extreme temperatures (-40°F to 194°F), prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in very hot conditions can affect the suction cup's performance. If possible, remove the mount or park in the shade during extreme heat.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Mount Not Sticking: Ensure the mounting surface is flat, clean, and dry. Avoid textured, leather, or curved surfaces. Rinse the suction cup with water and air dry if it's dirty.
- Phone Falling Out: Make sure the clamping arms are fully closed and securely gripping your phone. The lower-back release button should be fully engaged. Ensure your phone case thickness is less than 0.7 inches.
- Vent Clip Loose: Ensure the wing nut on the vent clip is tightened sufficiently. Verify that your car's vent type is compatible (horizontal or vertical, not round, cross, or diagonal).
- Mount Melting/Deforming: The VANMASS mount is made from high-quality PTFE plastic designed to withstand extreme temperatures (-40°F to 194°F). If melting or deforming occurs, please contact customer support.
- Difficulty Removing Phone: Ensure you are pressing the lower-back release button fully.
