The XINDUM SM01 Smoke Alarm offers two convenient installation methods: magnetic mounting or screw mounting.

Installation Methods:
Both magnetic holders and screw kits are included for flexible installation.

Testing the Alarm:
It is crucial to test your smoke alarm regularly, at least once a month, to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Press and hold the Test/Mute button located on the front of the alarm.
- The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating signal (85dB) and the indicator light will flash.
- Release the button. The alarm should stop.
- If the alarm does not sound during the test, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
Mute Function:
The mute function allows you to temporarily silence the alarm in case of a nuisance alarm, such as those caused by cooking smoke.
- When the alarm sounds due to non-emergency smoke (e.g., cooking fumes), press the Test/Mute button.
- The alarm will be silenced for approximately 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, if smoke is still present, the alarm will reactivate.
- If the smoke clears, the alarm will return to normal monitoring mode.
Alarm Indication:
When smoke is detected, the alarm will emit a loud, continuous 85dB signal and the red LED indicator will flash rapidly.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the continued reliability of your smoke alarm.
- Monthly Testing: Test the alarm monthly using the Test/Mute button.
- Cleaning: Dust can accumulate on the alarm and affect its performance. Gently vacuum the alarm's vents with a soft brush attachment at least once a year. Do not use cleaning solvents or wet cloths.
- Battery Life: The alarm is equipped with a 10-year sealed lithium battery. When the battery is low, the alarm will chirp periodically (e.g., once every 30-60 seconds) to indicate it needs replacement. Since the battery is sealed, the entire unit must be replaced.
