3. Setup and Installation
The RL-BI609A is designed for easy snap-in panel mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation and wiring:
3.1 Panel Cut-out and Mounting
The required panel cut-out size is 70.5mm x 34.5mm (2.78 x 1.36 inches). Ensure the panel thickness is suitable for snap-in mounting.

Image: Panel cut-out dimensions and snap-in mounting. The diagram illustrates the required hole size for installation and how the device snaps into place.
3.2 Wiring Connections
Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) ports of the indicator to your battery for power. For normal battery power display and monitoring, link the "key switch" port to the positive (+) terminal.

Image: Wiring diagrams. Shows how to connect the indicator directly to a battery and how to incorporate a key switch for power control.
Note: Ensure the "key switch" pole is connected back to the positive (+) terminal to enable normal power display.
4. Operating Instructions
Once installed and powered, the RL-BI609A will display battery information on its screen.
4.1 Battery Capacity and Voltage Display
The display shows the remaining battery capacity using 10 progress bars and a percentage value. It also continuously monitors and displays the real-time battery voltage.

Image: Battery capacity and voltage display. Shows examples of the screen displaying 100% battery, 12.30V, and options for backlight settings (on, auto, off).
4.2 Backlight Control
The white backlight can be configured for different modes: always on, always off, or automatic. Refer to the programming section for details on how to adjust this setting.
5. Programming Parameters
The RL-BI609A allows for customization of various parameters to suit different battery types and operational needs. This requires the Runleader PG600 programmer (sold separately).
5.1 Applicable Battery Voltages and Types
The indicator supports various battery voltages (12V, 24V, 36V, 48V) and types (Lead Acid, GEL, LiFePO4, AGM, and a customizable user type). These settings must be programmed to ensure accurate readings.

Image: Applicable battery voltages and types. Displays how different voltage settings (12V, 24V, 36V, 48V) and battery types (Lead Acid, GEL, LiFePO4, AGM, User) are shown on the indicator's screen.
5.2 Programmable Working Parameters
Using the PG600 programmer, you can adjust parameters such as charge and discharge voltages, battery capacity, discharge delay time, charging voltage, and various display modes.

Image: Programmable working parameters. This diagram shows the various settings that can be adjusted using the PG600 programmer, including charge/discharge parameters, operating modes, and display settings.
All programmable parameters can also be reset using the two buttons on the device.
6. Over-Voltage and Under-Voltage Alert
The RL-BI609A features an alert system for voltage extremes. Users can set specific high and low voltage thresholds.
6.1 Alert Ranges
- Over-voltage alert range: DC 12V to 60V
- Under-voltage alert range: DC 8.5V to 60V
When the battery voltage exceeds or falls below the set limits, a flashing icon will appear on the display to notify the user.

Image: Over-voltage and under-voltage alert. Displays the indicator showing a high voltage alert at 13.5V and a low voltage alert at 11.1V.
7. Water Resistance
The RL-BI609A is constructed with 100% epoxy resin, providing an IP67 waterproof rating. This means the device is protected against dust ingress and immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
