This timepiece is designed for daily wear, featuring a silver-tone stainless steel case, a white 3-hand dial with a date function, and a white rubber strap with a buckle closure. 2. Initial Setup and Charging
Your Citizen Eco-Drive watch is powered by light and does not require a traditional battery. For optimal performance, ensure the watch is adequately charged before initial use and regularly exposed to light.
2.1 Charging the Watch
To charge the watch, expose the dial to a light source. The charging time varies depending on the intensity of the light.
- Sunlight (Outdoors): Approximately 2 hours for a full charge from a completely depleted state.
- Overcast Sky (Outdoors): Approximately 5 hours for a full charge.
- Fluorescent Lamp (30W, 20 inches away): Approximately 40 hours for a full charge.
Avoid placing the watch in direct sunlight for extended periods in high temperatures (e.g., on a car dashboard), as this may cause damage.

3. Operating the Watch
The watch features a single crown for setting the time and date.
3.1 Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to position 2 (the outermost click). The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. When setting the minute hand, advance it a few minutes past the desired time and then turn it back to the exact time.
- Push the crown back in to position 0 (normal position) to start the watch.
3.2 Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to position 1 (the first click).
- Turn the crown clockwise to set the date.
- Push the crown back in to position 0 (normal position).
Note: Do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may interfere with the automatic date change mechanism. If it is necessary to set the date during this period, first set the time outside of this range, adjust the date, and then reset the time.

4. Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Citizen Eco-Drive watch.
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and strap with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust and dirt. For the rubber strap, a mild soap solution and water can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
4.2 Water Resistance
This watch has a water resistance rating of 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. However, it is not recommended for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is pushed in completely before exposing the watch to water.
4.3 Storage
When storing the watch for extended periods, ensure it is exposed to light periodically to maintain a charge. Storing the watch in a dark place for too long may cause it to stop.
