4. Setup and Operation
4.1 Powering On/Off and Charging
To power on or turn off the MOMIX PRO, long press the POWER switch. The unit is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. When the red LED above the POWER switch is on during use, it indicates the audio mixer is in a low-battery condition. The red LED will extinguish once it has been fully charged. You can charge the unit via the CHARGE port.
4.2 Connecting Devices
The MOMIX PRO features two OTG ports: OTG 1 (Master) and OTG 2 (Slave). These are used for connecting to a smartphone or computer for recording and live streaming. You can also charge your smartphone via the OTG ports while connected.
For audio input, use the CH1 and CH2 input jacks. These are 2-in-1 XLR and 6.35mm jacks, allowing connection of microphones, guitars, and other instruments. For condenser microphones, tap the 48V phantom power switch on the panel to supply power. Do not turn on 48V phantom power when using a moving coil microphone to avoid damage.
For high impedance instruments like electric guitars or bass, press the corresponding GUITAR mode switch (located under the 48V switch) to turn on the high impedance input mode.
The Instrument Jack (6.35mm stereo input) is used for connecting multi-effects processors, electronic drum sets, keyboards, and similar devices.
4.3 Adjusting Audio Levels and Effects
The CH1, CH2, and INST knobs control the gain for each respective input. In normal operation, the LEDs around these knobs are green. If the LEDs turn red, it indicates the input signal is too large, and you should reduce the gain accordingly to prevent clipping.
The two REVERB knobs allow you to adjust the reverb effect for CH1 and CH2. The color of the LED next to the reverb knob indicates the effect size: green for small, yellow for middle, and red for large. If the LED is off, the reverb is turned off.
4.4 Monitoring and Loopback
Tap the MONITOR mode selection button (located below the JOYO MOMIX PRO logo) to enable direct monitoring. When the green LED is on, you can directly monitor your audio. The Monitor 1 knob controls the volume of the headphone output.
When using Guitar Tone apps, it is recommended to turn off the direct monitor mode to avoid background noise caused by loopback. The AUX IN Jack allows you to connect a smartphone or other portable device to play backing tracks. The Center Cancel Switch can be turned on to reduce the volume of the main vocal in playback music, making your vocal more prominent.
