Setup and Assembly
Assembly of your Shark Vertex vacuum is straightforward. Ensure all components listed in the 'What's in the Box' section are present before beginning.
- Insert the wand into the nozzle until it clicks securely into place.
- Slide the handle onto the top of the wand until it clicks.
- Attach the hose to the back of the vacuum pod by aligning the tabs and pushing until it clicks.
- Store the Duster Crevice Tool and Pet Multi-Tool on the accessory posts located on the vacuum pod.
Operating Instructions
Power and Mode Selection
Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. The vacuum features fingertip controls for power and surface settings:
- Hard Floor Setting: For bare floors and delicate area rugs. The brushrolls spin slowly.
- Carpet/Low Pile Setting: For low-pile carpets. The brushrolls spin faster.
- Thick Carpet/Area Rug Setting: For high-pile carpets and thicker area rugs. Provides maximum suction and brushroll speed.

DuoClean PowerFins Technology

Maintenance
Emptying the Dust Cup
Empty the dust cup after each use or when debris reaches the MAX FILL line. The 1-quart capacity dust cup is designed for easy, mess-free emptying.
- Press the dust cup release latch and lift the dust cup off the vacuum pod.
- Hold the dust cup over a trash bin and press the bottom release latch to open the bottom flap.
- Tap gently to empty contents. Close the flap firmly until it clicks.

Cleaning Filters
