5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to prepare Turkish coffee with your SINBO SCM-2969 Coffee Maker:

  1. Add Water: Fill the coffee pot with the desired amount of cold water. The maximum capacity is 400 ml, suitable for up to 5 cups of Turkish coffee. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Add Coffee and Sugar: For each cup, add approximately one full teaspoon of finely ground Turkish coffee and sugar to taste. Stir gently to mix.
  3. Place on Base: Place the coffee pot securely onto its power base.
  4. Start Brewing: Press the On/Off button. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the appliance is heating.
  5. Monitor Brewing: Stay near the coffee maker during the brewing process. Turkish coffee brews quickly, and it is important to remove it from the heat as soon as it starts to foam and rise to prevent boiling over. The appliance does not have an automatic shut-off feature.
  6. Serve: Once the coffee reaches the desired foam level, turn off the appliance by pressing the On/Off button. Carefully pour the coffee into cups.
  7. Cool Down: Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning or storing.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your coffee maker.

  • Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Clean Coffee Pot: Wash the interior of the coffee pot with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker and the power base with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
  • Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the coffee pot (especially its electrical base) or the power base in water or any other liquid.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits may build up inside the coffee pot. To descale, fill the pot with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or a commercial descaling solution. Boil the mixture, then let it sit for 15-30 minutes before discarding. Rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water.
  • Storage: Store the clean and dry coffee maker in a cool, dry place.
