Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting guide for common controller issues

Figure 5: A visual guide to common troubleshooting steps for the controller.

  1. Rumble Feature Not Working:
    • Rumble feature functionality depends on the games and software being used.
    • For Windows PC running Project 64 emulator, activate the rumble feature by selecting X-Input mode and configuring additional settings such as "rumble" in the emulator.
    • Note: The rumble feature is not supported on MacOS.
  2. No Response when using on MacOS:
    • Please restart your Mac after pairing. For MacOS users, we recommend using OpenEmu as the emulator.
  3. Re-pairing failed:
    • Whenever you change devices and need to re-pair, please Reset the controller first by pressing the "Reset" button once to clear memory. Then, proceed to pair the controller step by step as if it were the first time.
  4. Pairing issue with Nintendo Switch:
    • If you encounter pairing issues with the Switch, firstly, verify if the system setting for "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is set to "ON". Then, proceed to pair the controller step by step.
  5. If the USB receiver light doesn't illuminate and pairing isn't possible:
    • The receiver is designed with upgrade-ability in mind for future enhancements. Please avoid pressing and holding the "SYNC" button on the RECEIVER without releasing it while plugging, as this may cause the USB receiver to enter upgrade mode. If the light doesn't flash upon plugging the USB receiver into the device, simply unplug and replug it.
  6. Memory card functionality problem:
    • Our controller mirrors the 100% replica of the original Nintendo N64 controller. However, just like the original controller, the memory card feature and rumble feature cannot work simultaneously; only one functionality can be active at a time. Toggle the switch button on the receiver to the desired position (Rumble or Memory) before powering on the console.
  7. The controller is not functioning properly in the game:
    • First, verify your device and corresponding controller mode. Then, check the LED status on the controller and compare it with the instruction list. If you're using an emulator, ensure that the configuration is correct.
