1. Introduction

The JOYO TORNADO R-21 is a dual-channel overdrive effect pedal designed for electric guitars. It features independent footswitches for overdrive and boost, along with five high-precision tone control knobs, allowing for a wide range of tones from clean to wild overtones. This pedal is a JDC Signature model, certified by Grammy Award winner José de Castro.

3. Setup

Before connecting the pedal, ensure your amplifier and other effects are turned off to prevent unexpected noise or damage.

3.1 Connections

Connect your electric guitar to the INPUT jack on the pedal.
Connect the OUTPUT jack of the pedal to your amplifier or the input of the next effect pedal in your chain.

3.2 Power Supply

The TORNADO R-21 pedal requires a 9V DC power supply (center negative). The power supply is NOT included in the package. Please use a JOYO original recommended power supply or other reliable brands to avoid noise or damage.

4. Operating Instructions

The TORNADO R-21 features dual channels and multiple control knobs for precise tone shaping.

4.1 Controls

VOL Knob: Adjusts the overall output volume of the pedal.
BASS Knob: Adjusts the low-frequency content of your tone.
TREBLE Knob: Adjusts the high-frequency content of your tone.
DRIVE Knob: Controls the amount of overdrive in the Drive channel. José de Castro's unique tone is clean, smooth, rich, and covers wide frequency bands.
BOOST Knob: Controls the amount of boost in the Boost channel. The overtone is spacious, beautifying the treble and bass nicely.

4.2 Footswitches

BYPASS Footswitch: Toggles the main overdrive effect on/off.
BOOST Footswitch: Engages/disengages the independent boost function.

6. Maintenance

Unwanted Noise: Ensure you are using a compatible 9V DC center-negative power supply. Incompatible power supplies can cause noise. Check for faulty cables or interference from other electronic devices.
Pedal Not Responding: Disconnect and reconnect the power supply. If the issue persists, try a different power supply or contact customer support.
