Brief Introduction of PXL-PRO

The PXL-PRO is a programmable and storable looper designed for advanced users, building upon the PXL4/8. It offers effects grouping and can store up to 32 effects sets for quick switching. The PXL-PRO features a dual four-channel design, allowing separate connection of effects in the preamp LOOP and poweramp LOOP. It also includes four programmable triggers for controlling external devices like amplifiers and effects, enabling the creation of a compact performance system.

Dual 4-Channel Design

The PXL-PRO can be configured as a single 8-Channel LOOP or as two independent 4-Channel LOOPs. In the dual 4-Channel mode, LOOP1 can be used for preamp effects (e.g., wah, overdrive, boost) connected to the amplifier's input. LOOP2 can be used for effects like reverb and delay, connected to the amplifier's effects loop (LOOP) jack.

Four Programmable Triggers

Triggers function as switches for external devices. They can operate in two modes: MOM (momentary) and LATCH. In MOM mode, the relay acts upon pressing and releasing. In LATCH mode, the relay maintains its state until the next command. Triggers can also be set for polarity: Normally Open or Normally Closed. Refer to your external device's manual for specific mode and polarity requirements.

Trigger Motion:

• Motion of T1-T4: Sending preset signal or not sending signal from Bypass to Non-bypass.
• Motion of T1-T4: Sending preset signal or not sending signal from Non-bypass to Bypass.

These features, combined with LOOP1 and LOOP2, allow the PXL-PRO to manage your amplifier and effects as a small performance system, with all channel and effects switching controlled by the PXL-PRO.

Control Panel

T1-T4: Four independent external channel interfaces.

STATUS 1-4: Indicator lights for the four triggers. An illuminated light indicates a trigger action; an off light indicates no action. T1-T4 correspond to STATUS 1-4.

DC/9V: External 9V power input.

LOOP2 OUT: Total output signal interface or LOOP2 output signal interface.

LOOP2 IN: LOOP2 input interface.

LOOP1 OUT: LOOP1 output interface.

IN: Total input signal interface or LOOP1 input signal interface.

Channel Indicator Lights (8 total): Lights for LOOP1 and LOOP2. A lit indicator signifies the loop (L1-L4) is connected; an off light signifies the loop is disconnected.

Bank Display: Digital LED display for bank information.

MUTE Indicator Light: Illuminates during mute operation and turns off upon exiting mute.

A/B/C/D Switch and Indicator Lights:

• Bypass State: When a switch (A, B, C, or D) is pressed, the digital display shows the corresponding channel (e.g., 1A), the respective LED indicator turns ON, and the other three LEDs blink.
• Non-Bypass State: When a switch is pressed, the corresponding LED indicator is ON, and the other three LEDs are OFF.

TUNER ACTIVE Indicator Light: Illuminates when the TUNER channel is selected and turns off when exiting tuning mode.

Instructions

1. Connection Modes:

• Single 8-Channel Mode: Signal input from IN and output from LOOP2 OUT. All 8 channels are active.
• Dual 4-Channel Mode: Signal input from IN, output from LOOP1 OUT (for LOOP1), and signal input from LOOP2 IN with output from LOOP2 OUT (for LOOP2). The two LOOPs are completely independent.

2. Bypass vs. Active State:

• Bypass: Signals pass directly through the LOOP1/2 channels without engaging the effect pedals.
• Active: Signals flow through the selected LOOP1/2 channels and their connected effect pedals.

Operation Instructions

A: Tuning and Mute Operation

• Step 1 (Tuning): Press the MUTE switch once. The TUNER port outputs signal, and the TUNER ACTIVE indicator lights up. Connect a tuner to this port.
• Step 2 (Mute Tuning): Press the MUTE switch a second time. LOOP1 OUT and LOOP2 OUT are silenced, the MUTE indicator lights up, and the TUNER port remains active for tuning.
• Step 3 (Exit Tuning): Press the MUTE switch a third time. The PXL-PRO exits tuning mode, the TUNER OUT port is deactivated, LOOP1 OUT and LOOP2 OUT are re-enabled, and both MUTE and TUNER ACTIVE indicators turn off.

B: BANK Switches

In Non-Edit mode, press BANK +/- to switch between Banks (1-8). The selected bank settings become active only after pressing one of the A/B/C/D switches. The digital display shows the current bank number (1-8) and the group number (A/B/C or D), e.g., 1A.

C: Edit Operation

1) Edit Modes and Options:

From Non-Edit or Non-Bypass state, press and hold the MUTE switch for over one second to enter Edit Mode (display shows "EH"). Use BANK +/- to cycle through editing options:

• EH: Edit 4 channels of LOOP2.
• EL: Edit 4 channels of LOOP1.
• Et: Edit T1-T4 trigger operations under Non-Bypass state.
• Eb: Edit T1-T4 trigger operations under Bypass state.
• En: Edit working modes (MOM or LATCH) for T1-T4 triggers. Refer to device manuals for mode selection.
• EP: Edit polarity (Normally Closed or Normally Open) for T1-T4 triggers. Refer to device manuals for polarity selection.

2) Edit LOOP Combination:

In Edit Mode, navigate to EH or EL using BANK +/-, then press A/B/C/D to toggle the corresponding channel (A: L4, B: L3, C: L2, D: L1) ON or OFF. The indicator lights show the status. This operation is the same for both LOOP1 and LOOP2.

3) Edit Trigger:

Edit triggers in the following order: EP (Polarity) > En (Mode) > Et (Non-Bypass Action) > Eb (Bypass Action).

• a) EP (Polarity): Navigate to EP. Use A/B/C/D to set polarity for T1/T2/T3/T4 respectively. Indicator lights show the polarity (ON: Normally Closed, OFF: Normally Open).
• b) En (Mode): Navigate to En. Use A/B/C/D to set mode for T1/T2/T3/T4 respectively. Indicator lights show the mode (ON: MOM, OFF: LATCH).
• c) Et (Non-Bypass Action): Navigate to Et. Use A/B/C/D to set action for T1/T2/T3/T4 respectively. Indicator lights show device status (ON: device ON, OFF: device OFF). This is a relative definition; for example, ON could mean amp overdrive, OFF could mean amp clean tone.
• d) Eb (Bypass Action): Navigate to Eb. Use A/B/C/D to set action for T1/T2/T3/T4 respectively when loops are bypassed. Indicator lights show device status (ON: device ON, OFF: device OFF). This allows control of external devices like amplifiers when effects are bypassed.

4) Exit Edit Mode:

• Save and Exit: Press and hold the MUTE switch for over 1 second to save settings and return to normal operation.
• Cancel and Exit: Press the MUTE switch briefly to discard changes and return to normal operation.
