Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Topsung M920b rechargeable long-range walkie talkie. Please read it thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to understand all features, including NOAA weather alerts and privacy codes. Setup
1. Battery Installation
Each walkie talkie requires 3 AA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries (included). To install, locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Remove the belt clip by pinching the release tab, then open the battery cover. Insert the batteries according to the polarity markings inside the compartment. Close the cover and reattach the belt clip.
2. Charging
Use the provided micro-USB cable to charge the walkie talkies. The cable allows for charging via a power bank or vehicle adapter, offering flexibility for outdoor use. The radios feature overcharge protection. Charging for approximately 3 hours provides up to 63 hours of standby time.

3. Power On/Off
Press and hold the MENU/Power button to turn the walkie talkie on or off. The backlit LCD display will illuminate upon power-on.
Operating Instructions
1. Channel Selection
Your Topsung M920b radio offers 22 FRS channels. To select a channel, press the MENU button once. The channel number on the display will flash. Use the Up or Down buttons to navigate through the channels. Press MENU again to confirm your selection.
2. Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)
The radio supports 38 CTCSS privacy codes and 98 DCS privacy codes. These codes help reduce interference from other users on the same channel. To set a privacy code, press the MENU button twice (for CTCSS) or three times (for DCS). Use the Up or Down buttons to select your desired code. Press MENU to confirm. For effective communication, all radios in your group must be on the same channel and privacy code.
3. Push-to-Talk (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the PTT button located on the left side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.
4. Volume Adjustment
Use the Up and Down buttons (when not in menu mode) to adjust the listening volume. There are 8 adjustable volume levels.
5. Call Tone
The radio offers 10 call tone settings. To send a call tone to other radios in your group, briefly press the CALL button.
6. Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental changes to your settings, press and hold the MENU/Power button until a key icon appears on the display. In keypad lock mode, only the PTT button remains active. To unlock, press and hold the MENU/Power button again until the key icon disappears.
7. NOAA Weather Alert
The NOAA Weather Scan feature automatically scans through 25 available weather (WX) band channels and locks onto the strongest weather channel to alert you of severe weather updates. NOAA Weather Alert will sound an alarm indicating a risk of severe weather in your area. To activate, press and hold the W/A button.

8. VOX Function
The Easy Voice and Sound Activation Transmission (eVOX) function allows for hands-free operation with 18 sensitivity levels. This feature enables transmission when your voice is detected, eliminating the need to press the PTT button.
9. Flashlight
A built-in LED flashlight is located at the top of the radio. To activate, briefly press the Light button (often combined with the W/A button). Press again to turn off.

Maintenance
1. Battery Care
To maximize battery life, fully charge the batteries before first use and whenever the low battery alert is indicated. Avoid completely draining the batteries regularly. The radio includes overcharge protection.
2. Cleaning
Clean the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all ports are closed when not in use to prevent dust and moisture ingress.
3. Storage
Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and fully charged.
- Poor Reception/Range: Check for obstructions (buildings, trees, terrain). Ensure all radios are on the same channel and privacy code. Battery level can also affect range.
- Cannot Communicate with Other Radios: Verify that all radios are set to the exact same channel and privacy code.
- Static or Interference: Change to a different channel and/or privacy code.
