1. Important Safety Instructions

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

• Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
• Remove any protective film or stickers from the appliance.
• Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

3.2 Initial Cleaning

• Before first use, wash the inner pot, glass lid, measuring cup, and rice spoon with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
• Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.

3.3 Placement

• Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
• Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance, especially above the steam vent.
• Keep the appliance away from walls, cabinets, and other heat-sensitive materials.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 General Operation

1. Ensure the inner pot is clean and dry before adding ingredients.
2. Place the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it sits correctly.
3. Place the glass lid securely on top of the inner pot.
4. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet. The 'Keep Warm' indicator light may illuminate.
5. Press the main control button to start the cooking cycle. The 'Cook' indicator light will illuminate.
6. Once cooking is complete, the appliance will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode. The 'Keep Warm' indicator light will illuminate.
7. Unplug the appliance from the outlet after use.

4.2 Cooking Rice

Use the provided measuring cup for accurate rice and water measurements. One rice measuring cup equals approximately 3/4 US cup.

1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the provided measuring cup. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. Place the rinsed rice into the inner pot.
3. Add water according to the rice type and desired consistency. Refer to the water lines inside the inner pot or the table below for guidance. For white rice, a common ratio is 1:1 (rice:water) by volume, but adjust based on preference.
4. Close the lid and plug in the cooker. Press the 'Cook' button.
5. The cooker will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' when cooking is complete. Allow rice to rest for 5-10 minutes in 'Keep Warm' mode before serving for best results.

4.3 Steaming

The rice cooker can also be used to steam vegetables, dumplings, or other foods.

1. Add water to the inner pot (ensure water level is below the steaming rack if using one, or enough for the desired steaming time).
2. Place the food to be steamed into a heat-safe steaming basket or directly into the water if appropriate.
3. Close the lid and press the 'Cook' button.
4. Monitor the food and remove once cooked to your preference. The cooker will switch to 'Keep Warm' when the water has evaporated.

4.4 Sautéing

The 'Cook' function can be used for light sautéing.

1. Add a small amount of oil or butter to the inner pot.
2. Add ingredients for sautéing.
3. Press the 'Cook' button. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
4. Once ingredients are cooked, unplug the appliance. Note that the cooker will switch to 'Keep Warm' if it detects a certain temperature or time has passed, so manual monitoring is required for sautéing.

4.5 Yogurt Making

The 'Keep Warm' function can be utilized for yogurt fermentation.

1. Prepare your milk and starter culture mixture according to your preferred yogurt recipe.
2. Pour the mixture into the inner pot.
3. Place the lid on the cooker and ensure it is plugged in, activating the 'Keep Warm' mode.
4. Allow the mixture to ferment for 6-10 hours, or until desired consistency is reached. The 'Keep Warm' temperature is suitable for fermentation.
5. Once done, unplug the cooker and refrigerate the yogurt.

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Moosum rice cooker.

5.1 Cleaning

1. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Inner Pot, Glass Lid, Measuring Cup, and Rice Spoon: These components are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads to protect the ceramic coating.
3. Main Unit: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid. Ensure no water enters the control panel or electrical components.
4. Detachable Inner Lid: The inner lid can be detached for thorough cleaning. Refer to the product diagram for removal and reattachment.
