Citizen Eco-Drive B642 Chronograph Watch User Manual

Model: CA7028-81L

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Citizen Eco-Drive B642 Chronograph Men's Watch, Model CA7028-81L. This timepiece combines sophisticated design with advanced Eco-Drive technology, ensuring reliable and environmentally friendly operation. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your watch.

The Eco-Drive technology harnesses light from any source, converting it into electrical energy to power the watch. This eliminates the need for battery replacement, offering continuous operation and convenience.

Product Features

  • Eco-Drive Technology: Powered by light, never needs a battery replacement.
  • Chronograph Function: Precise stopwatch functionality for measuring elapsed time.
  • Date Display: Convenient date window for daily utility.
  • Water Resistance: Designed for everyday use, including splashes and brief immersion (refer to specifications for depth).
  • Durable Construction: High-quality materials for long-lasting performance.

Setup

Initial Charging

Upon receiving your watch, it may be in a low power state. To ensure optimal performance, expose the watch dial to a bright light source (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours. The watch will begin to operate once sufficient charge is accumulated.

  • For full charge, expose to direct sunlight for approximately 11 hours.
  • Avoid placing the watch in direct sunlight on a car dashboard or other high-temperature locations, as this can damage the watch.

Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2: This is the outermost position. The second hand will stop.
  2. Rotate the crown: Turn the crown clockwise to set the hour and minute hands. To set the date, continue rotating the hands past midnight until the date changes. Set the time to a few minutes past the current time.
  3. Push the crown back to position 1: The second hand will resume movement.
  4. Setting the Date (if applicable): Pull the crown out to position 1 (first click). Rotate the crown to adjust the date. Push the crown back to the normal position.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

Wipe the watch regularly with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt. For metal bracelets, a soft brush with mild soapy water can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying. Ensure the crown is pushed in before cleaning with water.

Water Resistance

Your watch is water-resistant. However, it is important to understand its limitations:

  • Avoid operating the crown or pushers underwater.
  • After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.
  • Water resistance is not a permanent condition and may eventually be compromised by aging gaskets or accidental shocks to the crown or case. It is recommended to have the water resistance checked periodically by an authorized service center.

Power Reserve and Charging

The Eco-Drive movement has a power reserve that allows it to operate for an extended period in darkness once fully charged. If the watch stops, expose it to light to recharge. A quick charge of a few minutes in bright light can get it running again, but a full charge is recommended for optimal performance and power reserve.
