Eco-Drive Technology and Initial Setup
Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light, eliminating the need for battery replacement. It converts any light source, natural or artificial, into electrical energy, which is stored in a rechargeable power cell. For optimal performance, ensure your watch is regularly exposed to light.
Charging the Watch
Upon receiving your watch, or if it has stopped, expose it to bright light (e.g., direct sunlight or a strong fluorescent lamp) for several hours to fully charge the power cell. A completely depleted watch may require extended charging. The second hand will typically move in two-second intervals when the charge is low, indicating it needs more light exposure.

Setting Time and Date
- Unscrew the crown located at the 9 o'clock position by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Pull the crown out to the first click for date adjustment, or to the second click for time adjustment.
- For date: Turn the crown to set the correct date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 1 AM to prevent damage to the date mechanism.
- For time: Turn the crown to set the correct time. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set by observing the date change.
- Once set, push the crown back in and screw it down clockwise firmly to ensure water resistance.

Operating the Dive Watch Features
Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
The Promaster Dive watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel, essential for dive time measurement. This bezel rotates only counter-clockwise to prevent accidental extension of dive time. To use:
- Before diving, align the '0' mark on the bezel with the minute hand.
- As time passes, the minute hand will indicate the elapsed dive time against the bezel's scale.
- The unidirectional rotation ensures that if the bezel is accidentally moved, it will only indicate a shorter elapsed time, thus preventing overstaying underwater.
Water Resistance
This watch is ISO certified for diving and boasts a water resistance of 300 meters (30 ATM). This makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.

Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Citizen Eco-Drive watch.
Regular Charging
To maintain optimal charge, expose your watch to light regularly. Avoid prolonged storage in dark places, as this can deplete the power cell and shorten its lifespan. If stored in darkness, the watch may stop, but will resume operation once exposed to light again.
Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and strap with a soft, dry cloth. For the polyurethane strap, you can use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with fresh water, especially after exposure to saltwater. Always ensure the crown is screwed down before cleaning with water.
Storage
When not in use, store the watch in a location where it can receive light, even indirect light, to maintain its charge. Avoid extreme temperatures and strong magnetic fields.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Watch has stopped or second hand moves in 2-second intervals. | Insufficient charge. | Expose the watch to bright light for several hours (e.g., direct sunlight for 5-6 hours or fluorescent light for 20-30 hours). |
| Date changes at noon instead of midnight. | AM/PM setting is incorrect. | Pull the crown to the second click and advance the time by 12 hours. Reset the correct time. |
| Condensation inside the crystal. | Temperature change or compromised water resistance. | If condensation persists, contact an authorized service center immediately. Ensure crown is always screwed down. |
