3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the portable fridge from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Remove all internal packing materials and accessories. It is recommended to clean the interior and exterior of the unit before first use (refer to Section 5: Maintenance).

3.2 Power Connection

The Alpicool Y16T supports multiple power supply options:

  • DC 12V/24V: Connect the provided DC power cord to the unit's DC input port and then to your vehicle's 12V or 24V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
  • AC 100-240V: For home or standard wall outlet use, connect the unit to an AC power source using an appropriate AC adapter (sold separately or included depending on package).
  • Portable Power Station/Solar Panel: The unit can also be powered by a compatible portable power station or solar panel setup.

3.3 Placement

Place the portable fridge on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit, especially around the fan and vents, to allow for proper heat dissipation. Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near heat sources.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

The control panel is located on the top of the unit and features a digital display and several buttons:

  • ON/OFF Button: Press to turn the unit on or off.
  • SET Button: Press to enter temperature setting mode or switch between cooling modes.
  • UP Button (▲): Increase the target temperature.
  • DOWN Button (▼): Decrease the target temperature.
  • ECO/MAX Indicator: Indicates the current cooling mode.
  • Power Indicator: Shows if the unit is powered on.

4.2 Setting Temperature

  1. Turn on the unit by pressing the ON/OFF button.
  2. Press the SET button once. The display will flash the current temperature.
  3. Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to adjust the desired temperature.
  4. Once the desired temperature is set, the display will stop flashing after a few seconds, and the unit will begin to adjust to the new setting.

4.3 Cooling Modes (MAX/ECO)

To switch between cooling modes:

  1. With the unit on, press the SET button and hold it for approximately 3 seconds.
  2. The display will show "ECO" or "MAX".
  3. Press the SET button again to toggle between ECO (energy-saving) and MAX (fast cooling) modes.
  4. Release the SET button, and the unit will operate in the selected mode.

4.4 Car Battery Protection

The Alpicool Y16T features a 3-level battery protection system to prevent your vehicle's battery from running down. You can select the appropriate level based on your battery type and usage:

  • H1 (Low): Standard protection, suitable for most vehicles.
  • H2 (Medium): Increased protection, recommended for vehicles with sensitive battery systems.
  • H3 (High): Maximum protection, ideal for situations where battery drain is a major concern.

To set the battery protection level:

  1. Turn off the unit.
  2. Press and hold the SET button for approximately 3 seconds until the display shows "E1".
  3. Press the SET button again to cycle through the options (H1, H2, H3).
  4. Once your desired level is displayed, stop pressing the button. The setting will be saved automatically after a few seconds.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Interior: Clean the interior regularly with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Vents: Periodically check and clean the ventilation openings to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris.

5.2 Defrosting

The Alpicool Y16T features automatic defrost. However, if a thick layer of frost builds up on the interior walls, it can reduce cooling efficiency. To manually defrost:

  1. Turn off the unit and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Remove all contents.
  3. Leave the lid open to allow the frost to melt naturally.
  4. Once defrosted, wipe the interior dry with a clean cloth before reconnecting power and resuming operation.

5.3 Storage

When storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is clean and dry. Leave the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
