6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your cooktop and keep it looking new.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, allow the cooktop to cool completely. Wipe the ceramic glass surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, use a ceramic cooktop cleaner.

- Spills: Clean up spills immediately, especially sugary or acidic foods, to prevent them from baking onto the surface and causing permanent damage.
- Knobs: The control knobs can be removed for cleaning. Wipe them with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before reattaching.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your cooktop, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cooktop does not turn on. | Not plugged in, power outage, circuit breaker tripped. | Ensure the cooktop is securely plugged in. Check your household's power supply and circuit breaker. |
| Heating element not heating. | Knob not turned to a heat setting, cookware not suitable (unlikely for this model but check), internal safety feature activated. | Turn the knob to a desired heat level (1-9). Ensure cookware is flat-bottomed. If "H" is displayed, wait for the unit to cool. |
| "H" indicator remains on. | Cooktop surface is still hot. | This is a safety feature. Wait for the cooktop to cool down naturally. The "H" will disappear when it's safe to touch. |
| Unusual odors or smoke during first use. | Protective coatings burning off. | This is normal for initial use. Ensure good ventilation. The odor will dissipate after a few uses. |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact Karinear customer support.
