2. Using the Steam Wand for Frothing Milk

Figure 4: Adjustable steam wand and steam control knob for frothing milk.
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to one-third full.
- Activate Steam: Turn the control knob to the 'Steam' setting. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the machine is ready to produce steam.
- Purge Steam Wand: Position the steam wand over the drip tray and briefly open the steam valve to release any condensed water. Close the valve.

3. Hot Water Function
The machine can also dispense hot water for tea or other beverages.
- Activate Hot Water: Turn the control knob to the 'Hot Water' setting.
- Dispense Water: Place a cup under the steam wand. The machine will dispense hot water. Turn the knob back to the 'Off' position to stop.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your espresso machine.
- Drip Tray: The removable drip tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly. Simply slide it out, discard accumulated liquid, and wash with warm, soapy water.
- Water Tank: The 37oz water tank is detachable for easy cleaning. Wash it periodically with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter and discard coffee grounds. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water. For thorough cleaning, use a small brush to remove any stubborn coffee residue.
- Steam Wand: As mentioned in the operating instructions, clean the steam wand immediately after each use to prevent milk residue buildup.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine in water.
- Descaling: Depending on water hardness, descaling may be required periodically to remove mineral buildup. Refer to the full product manual for specific descaling instructions and recommended descaling solutions.
