1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your eufy Security Video Doorbell 2E (Battery). This device offers advanced home security features including 2K resolution video, human detection, and two-way audio communication.

3. Setup

The eufy Security Video Doorbell 2E is designed for battery-powered operation and does not support hardwired installation.

3.1 Initial Charging

Before installation, ensure your doorbell's battery is fully charged. Use the provided USB-C cable to charge the doorbell. The charging port is located on the back of the device, typically under a protective flap.

3.2 App Installation and Device Pairing

  1. Download the eufy Security app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Create an account or log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your Video Doorbell 2E and Wi-Fi Doorbell Chime. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the device and connecting to your home Wi-Fi network.

3.3 Mounting the Doorbell

Choose a suitable location near your front door. Use the Screw-Hole Positioning Card to mark drilling spots. If an angled view is desired, attach the 15° Wedge to the Mounting Bracket before securing it to the wall. Secure the Mounting Bracket (with or without the wedge) using the provided screws and wall anchors. Finally, attach the doorbell to the mounted bracket.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live View and Two-Way Audio

Access the eufy Security app to view live 2K resolution video from your doorbell. Use the two-way audio feature to speak with visitors in real-time.

4.2 Human Detection and Alerts

The doorbell utilizes AI technology for accurate human detection, minimizing false alerts. Receive instant notifications on your smartphone when a person approaches your door, even if they don't press the doorbell.

4.3 Pre-set Responses

Configure up to 3 instant pre-set responses within the app. When notified of activity, select a pre-recorded message to interact with visitors quickly.

4.4 Smart Assistant Integration

Integrate your doorbell with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to check in on your front door at any time using voice commands.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Charging

The doorbell features a 120-day battery life based on lab tests (30 events/day, 10 seconds each). When the battery is low, detach the doorbell from its mounting bracket using the provided detaching pin and recharge it via the USB-C port.

5.2 Cleaning and Weather Resistance

The doorbell has an IP54 international protection rating, indicating resistance to dust and splashing water. Periodically wipe the camera lens and surrounding area with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear visibility. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power/Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is fully charged.
  • Connectivity Issues: Verify your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. Ensure the doorbell and Wi-Fi Chime are within range of your router. Restart your router and the doorbell if issues persist.
  • Poor Video Quality: Check your Wi-Fi signal strength in the app. Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from obstructions.
  • False Alerts: Adjust the human detection sensitivity settings within the eufy Security app.
