Setup
Binding Procedure (FrSky D8 Mode)
- Power on your FrSky D8 compatible transmitter and select D8 mode.
- Put the transmitter into bind mode. Refer to your transmitter's manual for specific instructions.
- Connect power to the R88 receiver while holding down the BIND button. The LED on the receiver should flash rapidly, indicating it is in bind mode.
- Once the binding process is complete on the transmitter, the LED on the receiver should turn solid, indicating a successful bind.
- Power cycle both the transmitter and receiver to exit bind mode and confirm the connection.
Connecting Servos and ESC
Connect your servos and Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) to the corresponding PWM output channels (CH1-CH8) on the receiver. Ensure correct polarity: signal (S) pin, positive (+), and negative (-) are clearly marked on the receiver and your components.

Operating Instructions
After successful binding and connection of all components, power on your transmitter first, then the receiver. The receiver's LED should be solid, indicating a stable link. Test all control surfaces and motor functions before operating your RC model.
RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication)
The R88 receiver supports RSSI return. This feature allows your transmitter to display the signal strength received by the receiver, providing valuable information about your link quality during flight. Consult your transmitter's manual for instructions on how to enable and display RSSI.
Maintenance
- Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and debris.
- Regularly inspect antenna wires for damage, kinks, or cuts. Damaged antennas can significantly reduce range and signal reliability.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and free from corrosion before each use.
- Store the receiver in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and static electricity, when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- Receiver not binding:
- Ensure your transmitter is in FrSky D8 mode. Verify the bind button is held down while powering the receiver. Check that the transmitter and receiver are within close proximity (e.g., 1 meter) during the binding process.
- No control after binding:
- Confirm the receiver LED is solid, indicating a successful link. Check all servo and ESC connections for correct polarity and secure fit. Ensure your transmitter is powered on and operating correctly, and that the model memory is selected.
- Reduced range or intermittent signal:
- Inspect receiver antennas for damage or kinks. Ensure antennas are positioned correctly, ideally at a 90-degree angle to each other, and away from carbon fiber or metal components that can shield the signal. Avoid operating near strong Wi-Fi or other 2.4GHz interference sources.
