Setup
1. Battery Installation
The Kone Air mouse operates on AA alkaline batteries. It supports either one or two AA batteries, allowing users to adjust the mouse's weight. For maximum battery life, use two batteries. For a lighter feel, use one battery.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the top of the mouse.
- Slide the cover backward to remove it.
- Insert one or two AA alkaline batteries into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it forward until it clicks into place.

2. Connectivity Options
The Kone Air offers two connectivity modes: 2.4GHz Stellar Wireless (via USB dongle) for low-latency gaming and Bluetooth for versatility and reduced power consumption.
- 2.4GHz Stellar Wireless:
- Locate the 2.4GHz wireless receiver (USB dongle) stored inside the mouse, next to the battery compartment.
- Remove the USB dongle and plug it into an available USB port on your computer.
- On the bottom of the mouse, slide the switch to the 2.4GHz wireless icon (looks like a Wi-Fi symbol). The mouse will automatically connect.
- Bluetooth:
- On the bottom of the mouse, slide the switch to the Bluetooth icon.
- On your computer or device, navigate to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
- Select "ROCCAT Kone Air" from the list of available devices to pair.

Operating the Mouse
1. Button Functions
The Kone Air features a multi-button design with programmable inputs, enhanced by ROCCAT's Easy-Shift[+] technology.
- Left Click (Primary): Standard left-click function.
- Right Click (Secondary): Standard right-click function.
- Scroll Wheel: Scrolls vertically. Can also be clicked (middle click).
- DPI Switch Button: Located above the scroll wheel. Cycles through preset DPI (dots per inch) sensitivity levels. Default levels are slow, medium, and fast. These can be customized via software.
- Side Buttons (T1, T2): Located on the left side of the mouse. Default functions are typically "back" and "forward" in web browsers. Fully programmable via software.
- Easy-Shift[+] Button: Located on the lower left side, beneath the side buttons. Holding this button down activates a secondary layer of functions for other buttons, effectively expanding 9 buttons into 17 programmable inputs.

2. Ergonomic Design and Grip

4. PTFE Glides
The Kone Air features heat-treated, 100% pure PTFE feet (glides) on its underside. These glides ensure incredibly smooth mouse movements and reduced friction on various surfaces.

Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ROCCAT Kone Air mouse, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the mouse regularly. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Sensor Care: Keep the Owl-Eye Optical Sensor on the bottom of the mouse clean and free of dust or debris. Use a cotton swab or compressed air to gently clean the sensor area.
