3. Setup and Assembly
Proper assembly ensures optimal performance and prevents leaks.
- Ensure all components (bottle, nipple, screw cap, hood) are clean and sterilized before first use.
- Gently pull the nipple through the top of the screw cap until it snaps into place. Ensure the nipple is securely seated and the vent is not obstructed.
- Fill the glass bottle with the desired amount of milk or formula.
- Screw the assembled nipple and cap onto the bottle, ensuring it is tightened securely but not excessively to avoid damaging the threads.
- Place the protective hood over the nipple for hygiene when not in use or during transport.

4. Operating Instructions (Feeding)
Follow these guidelines for a comfortable and effective feeding experience.
- Prepare Formula/Milk: Always follow formula manufacturer's instructions for preparation. For breast milk, ensure it is warmed to a safe temperature.
- Check Temperature: Before feeding, always test the temperature of the milk on the inside of your wrist to ensure it is not too hot.
- Positioning: Hold your baby in a comfortable, semi-upright position.
- Latching: Guide the nipple towards your baby's mouth. The 'Latch-on Line' on the nipple is designed to help guide your baby to an appropriate, deep latch, similar to breastfeeding. Ensure your baby's lips are flanged outwards around the base of the nipple.
- Anti-Colic Function: The integrated anti-colic vent allows air to flow into the bottle, not into your baby's tummy, reducing the risk of gas and discomfort. Ensure the vent is not blocked during feeding.
- Paced Feeding: The nipple's design and flow rate (M size for 3m+) are intended to support paced feeding, allowing your baby to control the flow and minimize overfeeding.

5. Maintenance
Proper cleaning and sterilization are essential for hygiene and product longevity.
Cleaning:
- Immediately after each use, disassemble all parts.
- Wash all components thoroughly with warm soapy water. Use a bottle brush for the bottle and a nipple brush for the nipple to ensure all milk residue is removed.
- Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water.
- The bottle and components are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).
Sterilization:
The borosilicate glass bottle and silicone nipple are heat-resistant and can be sterilized using various methods:
- Boiling: Place disassembled, clean components in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Ensure all parts are fully submerged and do not touch the sides of the pot to prevent damage.
- Steam Sterilizer: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your steam sterilizer.
- Microwave Sterilizer: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your microwave sterilizer.
- Bottle Warmer: Ensure the bottle warmer is suitable for glass bottles and follow its instructions.

Storage:
Store clean and dry components in a covered container in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Pigeon Glass Nursing Bottle, consider the following:
- Leaks: Ensure all components are assembled correctly and tightened securely. Check the nipple and screw cap for any damage or wear.
- Slow Flow: The M-sized nipple is designed for babies 3 months and older. If your baby is older or requires a faster flow, consider purchasing a larger nipple size (L, LL, 3L). Ensure the anti-colic vent is not blocked.
- Fast Flow / Choking: If the flow is too fast for your baby, ensure the nipple is correctly inserted and not stretched. Consider using a smaller nipple size (SS or S) if your baby is younger or prefers a slower flow.
- Baby Refusing Bottle: Ensure the milk temperature is appropriate. Check the nipple for any damage or unusual smell. The Pigeon nipple is designed to mimic natural breast feeding; however, some babies may require time to adjust.
- Measurement Discrepancy: Note that the ounce (Oz) markings on the bottle may refer to UK fluid ounces, which differ slightly from US fluid ounces. For precise measurements, especially when preparing formula, it is recommended to use the milliliter (ML) markings or convert US ounces to milliliters (1 US fl oz ≈ 29.57 mL).
