5. Installation Guide

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Door Thickness: 1-3/8 inches to 2 inches (35mm to 50mm)
  • Backset: 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches (60mm or 70mm)
  • Cross Bore: 2-1/8 inches (54mm)

Important: Do not insert batteries until the installation is fully completed.

The lock is designed for easy installation and can be installed on both left and right-handed doors. A screwdriver is typically the only tool required.

6. Programming and Operation

The Zowill DK01-L offers various programming and operational features for enhanced convenience and security.

6.1. Master Code Setup

The master code is used to program other settings and user codes. It is recommended to change the default master code immediately after installation.

6.2. User Code Management

The lock supports up to 20 user codes. These codes can be assigned to family members, friends, or other authorized individuals.

6.3. One-Time Code

Generate a temporary one-time code for single-use access, ideal for visitors or service personnel.

6.4. Auto-Lock Function

The lock can be set to automatically lock after a delay of 10 to 99 seconds, preventing accidental unlocking.

6.5. One-Touch Locking

To quickly lock the door, press and hold any key on the keypad for 2 seconds.

6.6. Anti-Peeping Password

To prevent others from guessing your code, you can enter random digits before or after your actual code. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer entry.

6.7. Mute Mode

Activate mute mode to disable all keypad sounds, useful for quiet environments or late-night entry/exit.

6.8. Vacation Mode

When enabled, vacation mode restricts all user code access, requiring only the master code or physical key for entry. This is ideal for extended periods away from home.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Battery Replacement

The lock requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Under normal usage, batteries can last for over 1 year. The lock features a low battery alert function to notify you when replacement is needed.

7.2. Cleaning

Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

7.3. Weather Resistance

The lock has an IP54 weatherproof rating, ensuring protection against dust and splashing water. It is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -22°F to 158°F.
